Pours a brown color with a light brown head. Aroma is malty, toast, roast, and some earthy notes. Flavor is toast, caramel, and a bitter roast finish. Rosebud butternuts (2398) - Denton, Texas, USA - JAN 14, 2010
bottle thanks to bhensonb. poured dark brown with a beige head. aroma was chocolate, brownies, and coffee. flavor was coffee, baking cocoa, and a little bit of alcohol on the finish. body was almost medium with high carbonation. NeoHippie2 (1074) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - JAN 13, 2010
Pretty decent porter. Pours a deep ruby/black into the glass with a tan head. Roasted malts, coffee, and hints of toffee on the nose. Lots of malt flavor. Aftertaste lingers a bit too. Pretty good brew. Worth a try. mybrainhurts (400) - North Dakota, USA - JAN 13, 2010
Aroma of lightly roasted coffee, mild chocolate, and hints of mineral. Flavors of semi sweet chocolate, coffee, and roasted grains. Thin, watery mouthfeel. Not real exciting and rather boring. Nejhleader (1574) - Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 12, 2010
has an okay roast/chocolate malt aroma. Taste is a roast malt with a hint of chocolate and caramel. body could be a bit thicker, but not too shabby.

A deep brown pour with red highlights and decent tan head. It has a sweet chocolate malt aroma with hints of caramel. The taste has a medium sweetness that fades to a slightly bitter finish. This medium body has an oily texture and lively carbonation. DYCSoccer17 (3720) - Woodland, California, USA - DEC 18, 2009
12 ounce bottle from a mixed 12 pack. This has a nice, sweet, chocolately cocoa aroma. There is also a little metallic character, too. Pretty aromatic. Transparent mahogany body with a nice creamy off-yellow head. Starts a little roasted and burnt, with some mild chocolate flavors afterwards. Then it becomes a little watery towards the finish with some lingering herbal bitterness. Kind of thin and lacking, but there are much worse porters out there, like Labatt’s. 12oz bottle. Pours a very deep brown, almost black body with a finger-width, light brown colored head that dissipates quickly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is thinner, but it has a decent chocolate roastiness. A very light caramel and coffee grounds too. Flavor is similar. It takes a second to develop, but its not terrible. Thinner, lightly sweetened malts with a more noticable roastiness. Some chocolate and growing caramel sweetness towards the end where this finishes with a light acidic bitterness. Fairly dry with a moderate aftertaste. Light bodied and overly carbonated. Overall, fairly thin all-around and somewhat watery. The light roastiness keeps this tolerable, but besides that, its nothing special. Not terrible, but macro influenced. marcus (11059) - Sacramento, California, USA - DEC 10, 2009
Pours dark brown with a large tan head and almost no aroma. The flavor is mild coffee and treacle with a dry finish. Drinkable, but not remarkable. Beerdrinker79 (2188) - Idaho, USA - DEC 8, 2009
12 oz. bottle- Pours almost black with almost no head, aroma is almost nonexistent, maybe some malt. The flavor is malt, pretty much your average porter, not horrible or great, totally mediocre.
