Bottle. Pours a very nice copper amber with a light tan head and webby lacing. Actually a nice looking beer. The aroma smells like cheap lager and rye. Medium bodied with macro, semi prickly carbonation. Rye and caramel malt profile, with an astringent bitter finish. Not that great...as usual with these attempts at craft beer. A clear, orangish-red pour with medium white head. It has a floral and pine hop aroma with some wheat notes. It has a medium body and a slick texture. The taste is lightly bitter with a semi-dry, bitter finish.

I found this to be a pretty tasty product, well made and balanced. Wonder how it would do in a blind taste test? Nose is a bit spicy, subdued and malty, as usual better as it warms. Palate is very decent. Creamy at 1st, then quite hoppy but enjoyable. Appearance is great, dark with reddish and orange highlights and a light tan head. GABF 09. Pours a medium amber and a thin head. Aroma is toasty, nutty earth and spice with rye bread base - good clean citrus hops- a bit subdued but ok. Flavor is a bit weak but still good bready fresh malt, light nutty toast and earthy rye- citrus, lemon earthy hops and spice. 12oz bottle from sampler pack. Beer smells and tastes very similar to mich’s pale ale, but it has a little less bitterness which I find adds to the overall effect of the beer. Can definitely taste malt, but the bitterness is subtle.
