was out with some friends and gave this a try. certainly darker than most BMC products, with a faint aroma and flavor of caramel malts. pretty thin though. first thing I did when I got home was go to the refrigerator and grab a STOUT! 6re99 (19) - Oak Ridge, Tennessee, USA - FEB 26, 2006
smooth, watery, just like the other ... copperish color, very thin head like the other posters.. 5% actualy surprised me... 5 bucks, sure it’s alright if you want to drink and not get murdered BrockLanders (780) - Panama City, Florida, USA - FEB 25, 2006
Yahooo....nothing perks the spirits upon arriving at a big Mardi Gras party then opening the cooler for a cold one and finding this.....sheesh. Pours, surprise!...an actual amber colored liquid. Fizzy, smallish white head dissipates quickly. Light malts and bottle funk in the nose....yep it’s related to the other Mich Ultra, no question about it. Thin, thin mouthfeel...weak. If you try hard to barely detect some table sugar, light malts and other hints that they tried to make beer. Like a previous rater says, "...it is what it is." Yep, and that ain’t good. iprussianstout (2) - USA - FEB 25, 2006 does not count

Good-bye Miller Lite... good-bye bud lite, hello Michelob Ultra Amber. 5% alcohol, great taste and low calories. Who can ask for more ??? Magjayran (1378) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - FEB 20, 2006
The local AB distributors were so excited about this beer they were just giving it away! So first of all this actually has a decent appearance. Nice clear amber color with a thick and fluffy white head. Unfortunately the beer smells like water with a strange egg sort of odor. Crisp sparkling water flavor guarantees that I won’t finish the bottle. Boooooo this beer. OD40oz (774) - Box Elder, South Dakota, USA - FEB 19, 2006
LOL. Wow someone put food coloring in water and said it was an amber lager. This stuff was a joke. The only good thing I can say about it is, at lease it was free, it ranks right up there with Evian, Dasani and Arrowhead. pkbites (947) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 19, 2006
UPDATED: JUL 1, 2010 Beautiful color. Deep amber. I just had to give it a 5 for appearance. It deserved it. Nice, rich creamy head. But the head only lasted about 45 seconds. Grainy barley/hops aroma. This WAS an excellent amber beer.............................................. they added the 1000% water to it! It’s like Pointe Classic Amber with a TON of water added to it! How they did that and kept it to 5% alcohol I’ll never know! But at $8 for a 12 pack it’s not cheap enough for an alcohol delivery system. Buy it once, shrug, then move on!
A good tasting light beer is not possible.
The Anheuser-Busch website states this product has 4% alcohol, not 5. I knew it!!!! I’ve requested a correction here.
