Bottled as "Michelob Ultra Tuscan Orange Grapefruit", Born on 7/7/07. Poured clear bright golden with a dusting of white head. The aroma picked up sickeningly sweet orange and grapefruit meat (mostly grapefruit) on a pale malt base. The flavor had more artificial sweetener than the nose, accenting orange and grapefruit notes.. light pale malt and wheaty base. Very light-bodied and spritzy on the palate (enough to make it hard to drink).. artificially-sweetened blood oranges on the short finish. Not much going for it.

if youre looking for a lightly flavored orange pop with a hint of malt and lots of carbonation, look no further. i can envision thirty year old women drinking this on their back patio. dont expect too much and you wont be disappointed.

THOUGHTS: I regret to say that this is my 200th rating. I wish it had been a real beer. It was much better than the cactus lime version, but still pretty bad. The finish flavor just about disappears in the back of the mouth as carbonation takes over. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, medium yellow with a small to average, fizzy white head that quickly diminished. The aroma was mostly orange, but something bad underneath. The initial flavor was mostly orange with a somewhat peachy taste, while the finish had almost no flavor at all coming across as lightly sweet and sour with a short to average duration. The light body was dry but syrupy in the way that is sticky on the lips. There was very fizzy carbonation and a moderately astringent finish.

Bottle from Capones. Pale gold pour with minimal head. The aroma was half-decent, with a realistic orangy note and slight hopcitrus. Weak palate, with mild hopcitrus and orange in the flavor.

(bottle - 12 oz) Clear golden color with not much head or carbonation. Aroma is very full of orange, artificial sweeteners, stale hops, and plastic. Flavor tastes like boiled orange peels and old Sprite. The orange flavor dies and leaves a strange aftertaste. Not good.

Had a free sample at an event in Scottsdale. I did not take notes. This one is my least favorite of the bunch and tastes the most unlike beer in my opinion, but maybe I am just getting sick of orange flavored everything. The wife liked this one as well as the others. If the opportunity for another free sample arises I will re rate with proper notes.

Bottle, from a friend who couldnt get rid of it. Pours clear light gold with really small head. The aroma is somewhere between generic orange soda and Fresca. The flavor is like very, very watered down orange soda, but with some stale grain in the aftertaste. This is bad stuff. I do have to say, though, that it doesnt have overtly offensive notes like I was expecting. The fruity soda elements mask the horribleness of the beer, I guess.

8/5/07 Aroma is a strange candy flavor I cant quite place; kind of like an orange smartie or sweet tart; NOT GOOD. Appearance is clear light yellow with a dissipating white head. Flavor is carbonic dry candy forward with slight secondary sweetness and nothing else, no hop or malt character. Mouthfeel is light bodied with a watery texture and lots of spritziness. Overall, fairly funky, and I cant believe this is based off a beer!

A yellowish orange color with a moderate white head. It smells like orange juice although Im not really picking up much if any grapefruit. The flavor is Sunny Delight mixed with a regular Michelob Ultra. Still not detecting the grapefruit. Its not horrible but quite strange. This must be aimed at 17 year old high school girls.

I had a bottle and rated with an open mind: orangey amber with no head. Smells like Squirt soda pop - artificial grapefruit and orange with the faintest whiffs of malt at the tail end, this being about the only hint that this isnt a pure soda. Sweet orange-soda flavor, next to no maltiness, alcohol or otherwise "beerish" characteristics. Clean finish, with a hint of malted milk balls. Not disgusting or non-enjoyable in the least - it is what it is.
