This was a local favorite in Austin when brewed here, and now it’s back! I’m glad to see it on tap since I missed it the first time around. First off, a bock it ain’t, but as a nice small Belgian Ale, it’s a pretty nice drink. Strong fruitiness toward the finish that lingers. Notes of peaches, pears, a good everyday beer. Will probably be having more soon.

Slightly above average. Certainly better than the other "Texas bock", Shiner.

Crystal clear amber red under a small beige head. Faint sweetish roasted malt and hint of caramel aroma. Light bodied and soft bitter sweet palate. Mild burnt grain, rice, bitter hops and faint honey flavour. A 1995 Toyota Corolla type of beer.

celis was bought by miller. if only they still made their own... as for the beer itself, well, it was good, but didn’t have anything special like celis white.

Redbrown beer. Quite complex aroma with herbs, some smoked tones and a little bit of red meat (like ground beef) The flavor is bitter with some sweet tones and the meat and smoke coming on again.

I thought this was going to be decent as i like the other two Celis products i have had. This had a decent spicy aroma, but the flavor just wasn’t there. Slight spicy flavor that just faded into... well a watery, bland tasteless finish. Disappointing.

This beer was decent enough (nice aroma, lingering head), but the flavor and aftertaste, while not bad, just wasn’t to my liking.

red-amber colour, nice head, spicy aroma, creamy, slightly bitter
