A light yellow unclear beer with very little head. It has a very nice aroma of wheat. The flavor is that of wheat malt with a slight bitterness. Kaya161 (1139) - San Diego, California, USA - OCT 10, 2002
GABf 2002: Gingerale like colour, with a fizzy white head. Thin bodied, spritzy mouthfeel. Not a very citrusy wit, mostly wheaty flavour with some hops at the end. PhillyBeer2112 (2850) - Oviedo, Florida, USA - OCT 7, 2002
GABF 2002: Very pale white color. Definitely the palest beer I’ve ever seen. Light spicy aroma, hint of lemon. Notable phenolic band aid aroma and flavor. Light spicy, and almost bland. A true disappointment. Flounder99 (5) - Secaucus, New Jersey, USA - SEP 25, 2002 does not count
God I love this beer!! I can say no more about it. Oh yeah maybe , YUM! Norton (333) - Southside, Richmond, Virginia, USA - SEP 11, 2002
UPDATED: JUN 5, 2003 Ooooh! Wow! Such a beautiful white! Try without the lemon - this is delicious. If you have the chance to drink off-tap, DO IT! You WILL NOT be disappointed! Well-balanced wheat flavorings and smells absolutely wonderful. One of my all-time favorites. Highly drinkable any time, any place, anywhere.

This is a witbier that is being brewed in accordance to Pierre Celis’ recipe. Very similiar to Hoegaarden. It is a very good Belgian Witbier. I might add that at the present time it is only available on tap at the brewery.
Update: 9/9/02 - It is now being bottled and distributed in limited areas. GregClow (3402) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 8, 2002
I’m rating based on the Canadian version that was brewed by Brick, and I’m obviously rating on memory as they stopped brewing it around the same time that the Texas brewery was closed down. God-DAMN, do I miss this beer! I was the first witbier I tasted, and still remains my favourite. Here’s hoping that Michigan decides to bottle their version and send it up to Ontario sometime... gbzia (195) - Cedar Knolls, New Jersey, USA - SEP 1, 2002
Mine are getting old... about 2 years. Good tart, citrus flavor. Now being brewed in MI by Michigan Bewing Co. under the guidance of Celis. Mads Langtved (2243) - Copenhagen K, DENMARK - AUG 27, 2002
Pretty much like Hoegaarden. Very fruity and cloudy. A nice alternative to Hoegaarden, much more power. caesar (7156) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - AUG 8, 2002
As i like white beer, i certainly like Celis White. Compared with the Hoegaarden series, this beer has a fuller taste. Also see my rating of Celis White (belgian).
