Draft, on premise. 2003 GABF Gold Medalist.
Not my style, but even I can tell it’s excellent. A whitish yellow body brings in a fine wheat and creamy taste. More hoppines than in others I've tried in this style, which adds to the citrusy aspect. Also plenty of coriander and grains of paradise spices. A refreshing summer beer dressed up a “special occation” brew.

Just to clarify: Pete Celis’ original operation in Austin, TX was purchased by Miller, which later shut it down because it couldn’t make a megabrewer type of margin. Celis sold the brand to Michigan Brewing, which is now happily turning out this 2003 GABF Gold Medalist. Texas remains their primary market, meaning less for us up north!
From old tasting notes. Brewed in Austin, Texas. Cloudy pale yellow color. Thin misty white head. Acidic grapefruit nose.Tangy lactic character. Interesting spicy citrus malt flavor. Refreshing and tasty. Hoser (387) - Cowtown, Alberta, CANADA - APR 8, 2017
Yet another rating that has disappeared. This is incorrect for the MJ book to as the one in the book was brewed in Texas. Beerclubsa (147) - Strand, SOUTH AFRICA - JAN 14, 2017
330ml bottle from Roeland. Pours a hazy golden colour with tightly packed white head and some lacing. Aromas of citrus and white pepper and some light fruitiness (pears mostly). Palate has medium high carbonation and light body. Flavours of citrus, wheat, pears. Very low bitterness and a fruity dry finish. nybol (2200) - DENMARK - SEP 20, 2016

Light sweet wheat aroma with some spices. Looks great but could have more head. Slightly watery, but the essentials are there. Citrus, light spiciness, vanilla, wheat malts. Tastes nice just a bit too mild for me. I really like a flavorful wit beer and this one is just too weak (in flavor). Similar to Hoegaarden, just less pronounced. Nevertheless a nice one. kapusil (1432) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JUN 1, 2016
0.355l bottle. Hazy golden body, thin white head. Aroma of biscuit, honey, orange zest, peach and spices. Taste of bread, honey, coriander and some hops. Less fruity and more bready than the Hoegaarden, but still fine. Bill Becker (1035) - Casper, Wyoming, USA - MAY 28, 2016
Bottled January 22nd 2016.
Pours a light gold, slightly hazy with plenty of foam. Long lasting foam and good lacing.
Cloves coriander yeast in the smell.
Taste of the spices I mentioned. Hints of orange zest coming through and everything works well together. Fresher bottles would have been nice.
Creamy smooth mouthfeel.
Second pour and things get appropriately cloudy.
A very impressive beer. commonshawn (1257) - Minnesota, USA - MAY 20, 2016
Tap at buckowski with commonmac and rosskyle and samadouche. Light clear gold with medium white head. Banana coriander spice head. Citrus, banana, crispness. Finish has a not quite perfect balance. Spicy, good mouthfeel. Pretty tasty. Quick3Beers (1233) - East Falmouth, Massachusetts, USA - MAY 16, 2016
Pours a yellow from a bottle, nice clean witbier, classic without anything over the top. Good beer.
