Lots of chocolate... I really liked this beer. Delicious maybe a little bit too dark for a nut brown ale.
tap @ now defunct brewpub on 16 Nov 2011. brown with small head. below average brown ale. malty, but thin. jkwalking05 (4735) - Arlington, Texas, USA - JUL 3, 2013
Rated in 2010 (Backlog) - Amber in color with a small off-white head. Aroma is of nut, caramel, malt, and toffee. Taste is of malt, hazelnut and caramel. OKplus (787) - Oklahoma, USA - MAY 9, 2013
A - Pours a chestnut brown
S - Toffee, caramelized brown sugar, toasted wheat bread, maple, toasted nuts. Very nice!
T - Lots of nutty malt, some light sorghum, notes of caramel, vanilla, dry bread sprinkle with a dash of cocoa powder, hints of over-ripened blueberry. Finishes with nutty dry bread aftertaste.
M - Medium to full bodied, adequate carbonation.
Very good beer. Way better than expected. This is very rich without being sweet and heavy. Everything melds together well. A standout beer in it’s class.

Pours red-brown, clear, with a tall tan head.
Aroma is caramel, sweet nuts.
Taste is cola, tangy caramel, sweet malt.
Light hop bitter.
Just OK. rondphoto (4431) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - JUL 21, 2012
Good aroma of caramel and light hops. Clear medium amber with a persistent head cover, light splashes of lace. The taste is caramel malt and hazelnut, impacted negatively through a greasy mouth-coating residue that makes it seem quite heavy. Not much going for this brew. Not recommended.

12oz bottle pours ruby red to amber with tan head of foam. The aroma offers up some sweet malts, roasted malts, sweet nuttiness and a dash of chocolate malts. Pretty nice. The taste is pretty darn sweet for the style, I think, with sweet malts, some honey like notes and then a bit of carbonation enhanced roasted malts astringent tart notes. This brew pours a clear chestnut brown color with a medium foamy beige head that dissipates slowly to a film. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt and nuts. Light body with a sweet roasty character of malt and nuts. SLight hops in the background. The finish is short and leaves and earthy malt aftertaste. Pretty average overall. Draught at the bar and food joint in Detroit airport. Butterscotch and caramel nose, with grains, brown sugar, and some diacetyl too. Roasty grain flavor, caramel, brown sugar, ok bitterness. Decent, but nothing special. kassner (1659) - Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 29, 2011
Very nice for style, with lots of caramel, nuts and chocolate. Brinze color and nice head. troyc (2869) - Illinois, USA - AUG 27, 2011
[Bottle] Pours a very dark shade of brown with very little head. Decent looking lacing. Dusty nose of cocoa powder, earth and roasted malts. Decent roasted malt and caramel taste is followed by light vanilla and sweet nuts. Mild instant coffee and sweet rolls also in there. The finish is thin and grainy. Pretty standard.
