COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bright golden color, well rounded flavor and exceptional drinkability characterize this very refreshing ale. A delicate balance between pale malts and Hallertauer hops creates a very palatable, light, fruity ale. A great entry level beer for newcomers to fine hand-crafted ales.

Fruit, cardboard, and sweet malt aroma. Amber with creamy lasting head. Malt, fruit, mild hops, and cream flavour. Fairly smooth with hoppy finish.

(12oz bottle) Clear dark amber body with small beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, bread/pastry, caramel, lager yeast/lemon. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, cookie, toast, some nut, light earthy. Light-medium body, some stickiness. Could stand to lose a little bit of the sweetness.

Pours amber with a thin off-white head that quickly evaporated into the ether. Aroma is heavily malted, caramel, and something unpleasantly medicinal. Taste follows with loads of toffee and a hint of bitter, grassy hops. As with the aroma, there’s something off that corrupts the finish. MBC is a local brewery, so I’m always rooting hard for their success. Unfortunately, even with hometown judging, I can’t rate this higher than simply mediocre.

11/07/2007: The color of Michigan Brewing Sunset Amber Lager is coppery orange. It has a blasé beer-y aroma and that is slightly floral. The beer has flavors of toasted bread/grain, dough, and is a bit sweet. It is medium-light in body and smooth and mellow in the mouth. Overall this seemed too light for an Amber or Vienna-style beer.

12 fl. oz. bottle. Rating #56 for this beer.

Decent hop presence, actually, but not enough malt for my taste - more of a dark colored pils than a vienna, perhaps, if it weren't also so sweet.

Had a moderate bitter aroma. Light amber body color with thin head. Flavor was mainly moderate bitter also with some malty preasence not much. Yes this would most likely be served at pizza joint I would suppose if it is to go good with food.

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at Warehouse Liquors in Duluth, Minnesota. Pours a clear light copper amber brew with a thin off-white head that slowly dissipates to a white ring. Aroma of roasted caramel malt, some lemon citrus zest, roasted nuts and a touch of cardboard. Taste is medium bodied, some caramel malt and lemon skin. Finish is slightly dry, metallic with a slight acidic vinegar finish which may be an old bottle.

(Bottle) Pours clear amber with a medium white head. The aroma holds caramel malt and light resinous, floral hops. Toffee and toast in the background. The flavour is of caramelly malt and light resinous, floral hops. The mouthfeel is clean and a bit card Toasted malt, light bourned sugar and subtle fruits on the finish. Light to medium bodied.
