UPDATED: AUG 29, 2014 Bottle: Amber (who would’ve thought) body with decent clarity & an eggshell cap that quickly recedes to nothing more than a thin collar. Aroma mostly comprised of a strong, caramel & Munich malt backbone with a littering of some spicy, earthy hops over top; almost seems like Saaz, but there’s a light, grapefruit-orange element that barely peaks through towards the latter half, making me think something else was used? Taste is full of more caramel, toffee, & toasted malt... Even a little more "roasty" than the aroma. A touch of earthy bitterness, leaves, & mild citrus peel. Toasted biscuit & metallic toffee finish. A little vapid, unfortunately, but not bad. Just... Meh. rumproasts (6052) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - OCT 7, 2013
tap @ now defunct brewpub on 16 Nov 2011. amber with small head. rather bland amber lager. not awful, but totally boring. wmubronco1992 (709) - Coldwater, Michigan, USA - MAR 23, 2012
Bottle. Pours amber. Small white head. Mild aroma of toast and caramel. Flavor is caramel. A bit of roast in the mouthfeel. Relatively mild palate. This is a nice light amber and at 4.5% very drinkable. Probably something you use a stepping stone to bigger beer. Overall decent, but not memorable, even for an amber. (Bottle) Pours clear amber with a medium white head. The aroma holds caramel malt and light resinous, floral hops. Toffee and toast in the background. The flavour is of caramelly malt and light resinous, floral hops. The mouthfeel is clean and a bit card Toasted malt, light bourned sugar and subtle fruits on the finish. Light to medium bodied. shrubber85 (11706) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - JUL 10, 2011

Growler at home, rated against my interpretation of BJCP 2004 guidelines. Aroma: slightly floral, fairly weak aroma, malt. Appearance: dark golden red, clear, large foamy head that stays. Taste: malt opening, toasted, lightly hopped. Palate: medium body, slightly creamy, average carbonation, average and slightly bitter finish. Overall: a very enjoyable beer, seems to be a good example of the style, though I have not had many to compare to Onslow (1540) - Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA - JUN 5, 2011
Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Amber brew with off white head. Not much in the aroma dept. Tast is nice - simple malts with a bit of grassy / bitter hops in the finish. Clean and refreshing, good brew.
