Bottle at The Rover, Göteborg. Dark amber color, small brown head. Chocolate aroma, salty, malty, cocoa and with milky notes. A bit artificial chocolate flavor, cocoa and coffee notes. yngwie (17237) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - AUG 22, 2008
Bottle at the Rover. (5.2%) A dark, dark brown beer with a small, minimal actually, tan head. Burnt malt, coffee grit and chocolate in the aroma. Dryish. Burnt malt flavor with coffee and chocolate. Long coffee-bitter finish. Dry, full-bodied mouthfeel. The beer is maybe a bit one-dimentional, but especially for a 5.5% ABV beer, it’s really good. (12oz bottle) Small brown head atop brown-black body. Aroma is medium sweet, strong coffee/roast. Taste is medium sweet, coffee/roast, some ash/smoke. Bitterness is mostly from the coffee qualities, but a light earthiness creeps in as well. Medium body, some creaminess, coffee acidity. Dogbrick (13789) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JAN 19, 2009
Sampledat the Hopsnobbery Collective Stout tasting on 01/16/09. This brew pours brownish black with a medium thin and fizzy beige head that burns away quickly. Latticework lacing. Milk chocolate and mild coffee in the nose. Thin body for a Stout and sort of creamy, with flavors of roasted coffee and malt. Just a touch of hops as well. The finish is short and roasty with a mild coffee aftertaste. Just average overall. Sammy (12769) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 11, 2007
On tap at Pizza Plant. Bit of head not long lasting with lace dots. Black with above average carbonation making for thinnish mouthfeel. Dry. Serviceable but below average stout.Sour above all. End of the line?

Bottle. Chocolate coffee malt aroma - like walking into a great coffee shop. Opaque black-brown color with large tan head. Bitter burnt coffee and dark chocolate malt flavor. Okay - but unfortunately the flavor doesn’t quite live up to the expectations of the aroma. hopscotch (11248) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - NOV 21, 2006
Bottle... Dark crimson ale with a small, creamy, light brown head. Decent retention. Smells like a blend of spent coffee grounds and unsweetened cocoa. Mildly oxidized in both the aroma and flavor. Watery. Good bitterness; ash and charcoal. No residual sweetness. Medium-bodied with a dusty mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Finishes burnt, medium bitter and dry.
