This is my favorite product from the M.B.C. It tastes just like Guinness, and it is made in my home state. I was very impressed! DrnkMcDermott (3120) - Downers Grove, Illinois, USA - OCT 9, 2003
Draft, at MBC taproom. Has a burnt coffee smell, but in a nice way. This seems to be even darker than a G**nness (sorry, I'm tired of seeing their Ad by Google pop up every time it's mentioned). A reak dark roast coffee smell and taste. mallons72 (208) - livonia, Michigan, USA - MAR 26, 2010
Delicious stout. Very chocolatey and coffee-ey - but not over done. Very happy with this beer. crazyvin (2026) - New York, USA - NOV 10, 2006
Seemed to have a nice smokey quality too it. A good balance between sweet malts and a nice roasted coffee charahcter. a Smooth drik that could have been fuller, but still held its own. darkerdabetter (255) - Michigan, USA - OCT 21, 2004
Dark, creamy, nice roasted coffee and caramel flavors, great aroma. Found this to be of Guinness quality. I’ll have to remember this one, as it was an unexpected high-quality stout.

nnice well balanced nose with hints of toffee and coffee, taste is initially malty with a solid hop finish, nicely balanced stout, not extraordinary but pretty good kimcgolf (872) - Dacula, Georgia, USA - JUL 29, 2007
This is actually a good stout I didn’t expect. This pours to an overly carbonated dark brown, with a thick tan head (that actually made it difficult to pour withoutr spilling over), a nice tan cap throughout the beer, and little lacing. Immdetiate aroma of choclate and coffee, gave way to primarily coffee as the beer warmed. Mouthfeel was tingly and malty sweet, and the taste was a continuation of the coffee flavor. This all blended nicely to create a nice, warming finish, with coffee aftertaste.
The only thing keeping me from rating this even higher was the slightly thin body. But all and all, while not as good as the Terrapin Wake & Bake, is the next step down for Coffee Stouts. zizzybalubba (1878) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - NOV 7, 2010
12 oz. bottle from Siciliano’s in Grand Rapids. Pours dark brown with a short khaki head. Rich dark chocolate and coffee aroma. This is present in the flavor as well. The palate is somewhat thin but not too much so for a stout. I could drink several of these. This is a really solid stout. Aggie80 (827) - Michigan, USA - NOV 13, 2004
Solid color with a tan head and some lacing to it. Solid coffee flavor in the rich malt. Nice long lasting aftertaste that I enjoy. I liked this and will certainly buy more next time I’m by the brewery. rudolf (2360) - Buffalo, New York, USA - JUN 8, 2006
Goodbar beer club. Typical stout nose - nearly burnt malt, iodine/astringent, reasonably hoppy, maybe some cherry. Flavor is coffee, quite hoppy. Bitter cherry, random fruitiness, burnt cherry dry finish. Cut down on the astringency and this is wonderful.
