Bottle at home. Slightly cloudy golden, offwhite creamy head. Nicely nuanced grainy, creamy, slightly sweet malty ale, peppery and dry yeasts. Lively carbonation, medium body.

The beer looks nice. The color of the beer is a nice yellow. It has a silky look. On top there is a nice layer of soft white foam. Foam retention is quite good. The smell of the beer is lovely. It is a familiar smell of Belgian ale like beers. Quite yeasty. There are some fruity touches of banana. Lovely. There are also some nice aromas of malts and barely hops. The smell reminds me of weizener. The taste of the beer is also quite nice. There is a nice malty base. I also taste some yeast. Nice weizener touch. It is not that saison like…but it is lovely. I wouldn’t mind drinking another one.

Backlog. Synchronizing with notes and Untappd.
Spices, orange zest, yeast, bread. On some occasions I’ve had DMS and alcohol very noticeable in the aroma.

Weinig geur.

Pours with slight haze. Smells of over ripe banana with a yeasty touch. Round and clean on the palete. Tastes sharp, sour sweetish a tad mineral. Refreshing and ok.

@ Hoppeschuur, Knesselare. Hazy blond, white foam. Medium carbonation. Light sweet malty, grains and bitter hops. Dry finish. Fruity. Good saison!

Standard, buona birra, bella spaziatura, un finale troppo amaro forse. Però è una birra onesta che si lascia bere com tranquillità.

bartlebier (4118) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - SEP 7, 2014
[email protected] Hoppeschuur, Knesselare 09/2014. Much rounder, fruitier, cereal-malt forward in-house version of their drier and EU hop saison recipe executed on global scale at Koningshoeven, using only Poperinge hops. Less bitter and fruitier, allowing the quality malt compinents to shine: meaty fruitiness of pineapple and peach, expertly balanced by BE hop green and white pepper (sechuan-like), some vanilla even. - Dry enough, although no real saison attenuation or palate-smacking dryness to be had here: in that respect less of a traditional saison, also missing that wild streak - neverheless a very enjoyable beer. (cf. Zinnebir draught and bottled).
