Bottle shared by JB. Poured a dark hazy brown. The beige head fades quickly and leaves lace. Aroma of strong brown sugar, alcohol and hops. The flavor begins nicely, with hops, caramel and chocolate before a nice boozy finish. I enjoyed the more flavor coming out as it warmed. The alcohol was hidden well. jb (3336) - Rochester, New York, USA - JUL 3, 2015
Surprised to spot this at Wegman’s today. Wonder if it has been there for years and I just noticed it? Dark hazy amber, some lacing. Attractive to me. Really malt dominated nose, heavy caramel and booze notes. Taste is nice, full, lots going on. Very well balanced, enough hops to kick it over from barley wine country. I liked the Double Wench. zach8270 (4021) - Henrietta, New York, USA - SEP 13, 2014
(bottle - 22 oz) Copper pour with a thin white head. Sweet and piney hops with a touch of sugar and caramel in the nose. Sweet and malty but then a quick change to bitter and peppery hops. Dries out the sweetness nicely and leaves a lightly bitter aftertaste. Nicely balanced. Rrauth (1196) - North Carolina, USA - AUG 1, 2014

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2015 Lively tan head on a surprisingly dark brown body. Significant nose of Grapefruit, bubble gum and rum. Taste is dominated by bready malt, with subplots of resigny hops, caramel, prunes and boozy warmth. The hops present in the nose are there, but muted by the 12% ABV and malt presence. This is a very rich tasting, mid-bodied DIPA. Enjoyable as a sipper. Lovely balance but a bit light on complexity. MadRobin (2988) - Silver Spring, Maryland, USA - JAN 10, 2014
Poured from 22 oz. bottle.
Dark red-brown with a 1-finger khaki head and very good lacing.
Aroma of hops, raisins, caramel, toffee, pine, raspberries and rum.
Taste of toffee, raisins, piney and other hops, rum, raspberries, caramel and cherries.
Full/medium body and medium/high carbonation.
A bit like a cross between a barleywine and a double IPA. Delicious.
