2012-01-06. Very dark amber body, small beige head. 3+ Flavour is interesting, fairly bitter but the sweet malty core makes it fairly sweet, caramel and sugary notes, fruity accents. 7+ Modest aroma, sweet malt, caramel, mild hops. 7+ Smooth medium bodied palate. 3+ Modest alcohol throughout makes itself known. Nice, less hoppy than I had hoped, I think I prefer the regular Wailing wench, but this was enjoyable. Bottle from Premier Gourmet, BuffaloJaBier (8396) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - JAN 11, 2012
"If I want to go out and poop on someone, I could pay for it... but they can get it for FREE!"
Bottle shared by a friend. Clear reddish copper pour with a medium tan head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel, nougat and grassy hops. Caramel malt flavor up front followed by chocolate, booze and grassy hops before a sweet chocolatey finish. Good stuff. garthicus (2962) - Dublin, IRELAND - JAN 6, 2012
Thanks to Jerc & Mable. Appearance: rusty red, off white thick head. Aroma: grainy, lots of hops, quite malty and a hint of chocolate. Flavour: malty with a hint of chocolate and hops, toasty, a little sour, coffee finish.

Spicy strong malt aroma. Cloud dark orange color with a small white head. Sweet light minty beginning with a light bitter finish. shadey (2171) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - AUG 26, 2011
22oz bottle. Pour is a deep garnet red with only wisps of head. The aroma is quite spicy - full of hops. However, there is enough malt to balance this out. The flavor is a big malty beer that is well hopped and very spicy in character. I prefer the original wench, but this is clearly quality and at the high level of alcohol, well done.

Big beer! Pours dark amber with a glue thick head. Aroma is burning alcohol and hops. Flavor is hot on the palate with boozy hops, a bit much but I love it. bhensonb (15965) - Woodland, California, USA - JUN 22, 2011
Bomber from Half Time. These guys are good at specials and seasonals. Pours a dark ruddy amber brown with a good creamy beige head. The aroma is heavy hop. Not the harsh cat pee type. More floral and fruit. Med + body. Til the carb leaves. The flavor is heavy malt more than balanced by a lot of earthy, floral, maybe herbal, hop. I’m not getting a trace of heat, which is somewhat amazing. Just excellent ale. manuchampions (1245) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 18, 2011
22oz bottle from trade. Pours a dark copper, murky with thick cap of tan head. Aroma is very barley wine with big caramel notes, dark fruit, hops and candied sugar. Taste is all of the notes from the aroma plus a hint of vanilla and some heat from the alcohol. Finish is warm and hoppy. Very good but more of a BW in my book. italianjohn (3310) - Penndel, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 10, 2011
Pours a deep lightly cloudy amber mahogany with a thin beige head decent retention sticky light lacing ..... aroma is of caramel malts, resiny hops, light pine and a little woody ..... taste is bitter citrusy/resiny hops, burnt caramel, roasted malts, light pine and woody with a bitter hop kick through to the dry bitter finish lots of flavor abv hidden well chibuck (3521) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 30, 2011
Bottle poured into my De Struise glass... A nice pour of a dark orange with hints of copper, semi clear but doesn’t look dirty, just dark. A big light tan head that is very full, great retention and lacing, looks great... The aroma is very strong hops throughout but there is enough caramel malt on the front to break it up. Smells like a barleywine, I’m very intrigued... The hops attack to much on the palate, not balanced at all. A super hopped barleywine, lots of hops and alcohol on the finish. The more you drink the more alcohol comes out in this...The mouthfeel is light but very rough, too warm.
This is not very good. Way out of whack, gotta pass.
