From bottle, 7A Papsoes New Zealand vs US blind tasting. Pours golden and dark amber with a lacing off-white head. Light fruity, alcohol and yeast aroma. Mild malty and slight fruity flavour. Mild metallic note. Light oxidised. Ends with a light bitter finish. Ungstrup (37902) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - MAR 30, 2008
Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin tan head. The aroma is sweet and very malty with notes of caramel and pumpernickle bread. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of pumpernickle bread combined with a light alcohol tickle on the palate, and also a light note of metal from the alcohol, leading to a bitter finish. The body is thin. Thanks Papsoe for sharing. joergen (28440) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAR 26, 2008

Tap at Barcade. Pours dark brown/black with a thick, tan head. Nose is all roasted malts and some mocha. Flavor follows through with charming bitter malt character. Rich and almost creamy, this is a very smooth drink.

12 ounce bottle shared at a tasting. Clear dark brown, thin fizzy tan head, good retention. Aroma of candy strawberries and toffee. The taste is dark fruit and caramel. Thin bodied. Dogbrick (13145) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JAN 20, 2005
Acquired via trade. Pours a dark reddish brown color with a medium thin off-white head that has fair retention. Thin and sticky lacing. Strong roasted malt aroma, with touches of caramel and fruit. Pretty full-bodied, and I like the style that blends characteristics of a Scotch Ale and Porter, although to be honest if I didn’t read the label I would have guessed just Scotch Ale. Nice roasty flavor with malt, dark fruit, caramel and a hint of chocolate. The finish is a little smokey and has a nice bitterness. Enjoyable brew. nice roast porter. Carbonation a tad on the aggressive side, but very fresh from the brewery. Nice dark colour and roast aroma. Small head. Scotch in the taste
