Earthy tea aroma. Pours a rust red with a thin off white head that leaves a little lacing. Earthy. Light bodied. Crisp bitter finish. Like a cross between a brown ale and a pale ale. onceblind (9886) - Denver, Colorado, USA - DEC 14, 2016
Hazy dark Amber with a thin light ivory cap. Bright caramalt and crystal malt nose with a toasty amber ale tone. Crisp malty flavor that’s full of crystal malt, copper and Amber malt with a low bitterness and a touch of alcohol. Kind of plain and just Meh. dfinney23 (3366) - Houston, Texas, USA - SEP 8, 2016
Dark amber pour with a finger of light head. Got kind of a nutty, toffee, spicy thing going on. Alcohol is a bit hot but that rarely bothers me. lownote (585) - Austin, Alabama, USA - MAY 20, 2016
Pours with a light white head, but the pour was deliberately unheady. Clear ruby color in the light. Some hop aroma, kind of piny. Flavor is pretty bitter and spicy. It’s quite dry. The spice is nice, but it’s a little one note. Also a big beer. Can taste a tiny bit of alcohol warmth. Little bitter aftertaste. hayduke (5572) - Eureka, California, USA - DEC 29, 2015
Sampled at GABF2015. In the tasting glass amber with an off-white head. Nose of roasted caramel malts with citrus, grassy, and earthy hops. Medium in body. Flavor is like the aroma and the finish is quite bitter Pretty good/

Tap at brewery. Pours dark Amber almost like cola. White head with good retention. Aroma is faint, not much on the nose. Taste is much better. Taste has some nice piney hops, caramel, a bit of faint spice and toast. Light burn On the palate. Medium body, high carbonation. Pretty good. drsordr (2743) - Loveland, Ohio, USA - JUL 18, 2015
Draft to taster pour dark amber with thin white head. Nose toffee, dank, wet earthy. Taste caramel, toffee, sweet malt. None of the sharp bitter that is common in other imperial reds brucebruce81 (391) - GUAM - MAY 7, 2015
This beer was very mild it was smoothe even though the beer lacked the hop flavor needed to give it that full flavor.

The aroma is malt forward while the pour is a Texas tea brown with a one finger off-white head and abundant lacing. The taste follows the nose - toasted malts, caramel and nuts. A slight bitter finish. Overall, a nice nutty brew. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - OCT 25, 2012
(Draught) Pours an amber-brown body with a medium beige head. Aroma of caramel, grass, citrus, earth, and mustiness. Flavor of caramel, earth, pine, and grass with a extremely bitter, dry finish.
