Bottle - Sweet marzipan and vanilla boozy chocolate notes. Jet black brown with a nice brown head. Sweet, dark fruit and dark chocolate with a nice silky cocoa finish. As it warms graham cracker and honey. Alengrin (5884) - BELGIUM - JUN 28, 2016
Bottle shared by Trevor at Belgium Chimipalooza, cheers. ’Belgian style imperial stout’ from Alaska. Lightly lacing, pale brownish beige, creamy head over a black beer with chestnut edges. Aroma of chocolate sauce, baked banana, fig, coffee liqueur and slight coffee grounds, vanilla, dates, whisky, raisin, leather. Sweet onset, some banana, raisin, date but balanced with a beefy umami accent and a softly sourish undercurrent, softish carbo, thick, oily and slick caramelly malt body quickly turning deeply chocolatey, some yeasty spiciness here and there, toasted bittering ending along with peppery hops and warming, bourbon-like alcohol. Along the same lines as Weyerbacher’s Tiny but ’cleaner’ and more chocolatey.

4oz draft at Brouwers. Thick black pour with thick brown head; decent retention and lacing. Aroma: alcohol, chocolate, roast, old hops / light oxidation; pie filling. Tastes pretty good - raisins join the party, lovely sweet chocolate, moderate roast. Mildly astringent, assertively roasty bitter finish. Full body, slick oily texture. Overall: intense, well worth drinking. Bule (2309) - California, USA - MAY 15, 2016

Bottle thanks to trade with AkAndy! Pours an opaque black from the bomber with thin lacy brown head that leaves light lace. Aroma of big bourbon barrel notes, vanilla and chocolate sweetness. Taste is a bit more smoky and spicy bit still really big on the bourbon notes. Thick and viscous, soft carbonation, solid.
