Short: A Chardonnay expressive Brett ale that has held up well biggirlpanties (194) - Oceanside, California, USA - JAN 20, 2014
Origin: 651mL Size: 7oz Glass: Reidel Razor Stemless Tulip Price: Trade Date: 1/20/14
Long: Low haze deep golden pour with medium white foam. Not a gusher as expected. Nose is beautifully expressive Chardonnay barrel with buttery oak, sweet cream, something similar to Hill Farmstead house yeast with soft and silky vanilla and starfruit. Taste is a bit chalky and bland, dusty, dry, drained, calcium. A tad flavorless but it is quite the old and Brett drained beer. For what it is, it delivers. Is it worth trading for out of the Planet Series? I’d say no but few if any of them are at this point. Now the Sloth is a different story. Trade all that you can for that beer.
Flaws: A bit dusty, drained as expected
Skill Level: High as expected
651mL thanks to GT2 via savnac!! Pours a murkier golden, medium white foam. Nose is Bretty, fresh dough, buttery chardonnay, big oak barrel, slight Brett floral with jasmine, flashes of citrus floor cleaner. Taste is sourdough, white wine, salt, but it’s pretty drained, not too much still there. Palate is dry, Brett drained. Great stuff that has held up, just not much left to it. 3_first_names (1) - - JAN 20, 2014 does not count
Smells like a sour, flowery on the attack and very dry. Distinctive brettanomyces.

Bottle shared at Zwanze Day 2012 (Chicago, IL). Pours a wretched well hazed dulled golden pourz, firm haze, frothy white head. Aromas are gentle dough, firm funk and oak, bretty dryness and dust. Some bready malts, dough, and gentle fruit come in. Warmth shows some brighter fruit, citrus and grape, gentle apple. Initial is lighter end of medium bodied, aged with bretty funk and mellow fruit elements. Gentle spice, gentle bready and grainy malts. Touches of grape, gentle apple, oak and gentle melon. Middle is gentle dough, fruit, and sweetness. Some straw as barrel tannins and funky brett work into the backend. Fruit, grape, and melon. Touches of gentle kisses of citrus, some dough, and oaky tannins. Finish is gentle, dry with lingering fruit that was more vibrant in the middle. Pretty solid offering, incorpating oak and firm brett without losing it’s base flavors too much. Nice. Dunt (316) - Illinois, USA - DEC 8, 2012
Bottle provided by savnac. Thanks Ira! Pours an apricot color with a fingers worth of white head. Very good head retention. Bright fruity nose, white grape skins, Pineapple, Belgian yeast...very saison-like. Very delicate flavors starts with a saison-like base and is backed by light stone fruit, white wine, some light malt. Light mouthfeel, dry, moderately carbonated, and a shPeter finish. One of the best of the planet series, real easy drinker for the percentage. Really nice, bright nose is a standout. SHIG (4962) - Wasilla, Alaska, USA - OCT 28, 2012
Bottle: Poured a clear bubbly golden color with a thin carbonated head. Aroma is winey and fruit. Taste is very fruit with some wood and grapes coming on. There is a dry brett like finish. neepsntatties (1988) - Portland, Oregon, USA - FEB 13, 2012
Bottle. Colour... golden-yellow with a fairly frothy head. Nose... kinda funky with lemon spritz. Palate... a bit sweeter than I expected followed by moderate funk, a general citrus tartness and more lemon with hints of oak and wine. Not my favourite of the "Deadly beers" but a decent effort. brokensail (16444) - Dublin, California, USA - JAN 11, 2012
Pours a pale yellow color with a white head. A hint of lemon and citrus peel. Maybe some melon and other tart fruits. A nice fruity flavor and some excellent tartness. There’s a little grassy funkiness to it. Good melon and apple and lemon notes. Really nice. Light bodied with high carbonation.
