COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Smoked Imperial Stout brewed with smoked malt, molasses and brown sugar, aged in oak bourbon barrels. Somber and smoky, BARFLY saunters into the room slowly. Thick smoke. Cool swagger. Good wood. Too much brass. Sticky leather. Slow glances. Lingering looks. A bit of sass. The only thing that didn’t make the glass was maraschino cherry. Bring your own and wear out your welcome. Part of the 2010 Pop Ten Series. December 2010.

Pours black with a tan head. Chocolate, roast, and bourbon booze aroma. Moderately sweet, definitely roasty, bitter chocolate, nice boozy Bourbon finish. Notes: on tap at the brewery during our May ’17 Anchorage visit.

650 mL bottle. Batch 1. Originally reviewed 5/14/2014. Ink-staining black. Medium khaki head. Thin collar. Smells smokey. Oxidized. Red wine acidity. A bit of raisin and dark roasted malt. Smoke flavor is still strong. Dark coffee roasted malts. A little sweet. Oak is strong. Red wine flavor is more prevalent in the finish. Medium heavy. Still pretty chewy. Not boozy at all. The final beer of the night. Excellent in its own right. I really like the red wine component.

Tasted from bottle. Pours black with a thick brown head. Aroma is slight smoked meats, dark chocolate, molasses. Taste is very well balanced. Flavors of dark chocolate, small smoke, wood, bourbon, coffee, caramel, maple syrup. Overall an exceptional imperial smoked stout. Really top notch. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22oz bomber. Black with a frothy mocha head that’s gone very quickly leaving it flat and black. Aroma is a lot of molasses. Touch of smoke, licorice, dark chocolate. Taste is bitter dark malt, some smoke, brown sugar. Lots of sweetness that balances the malt pretty nicely.

Dated 11/23/15 Enjoyed 7/24/16 Bar Fly pours black with an oil like consistency. Smokey ash dark fruit aroma. Slight bourbon flavor, burnt sugar, smoke, and wood. Smooth, thick, coating, and the abv is hidden well. Overall, a well crafted aged stout that indulges.

A more huger version of second hand smoke :) big n thick, huge smoke noted in the nose especially. Like a bbq imperial stout. Big roast and cocoa too, booze...smoke would be too much if it wasn’t such a big beer.

Bottle: pours a near opaque black with a deep brown head. Complex aroma. Big black malts, some charred sugar, burnt dark fruits, wood, a hint of leather and smoke. Slick oily body. Big malt flavor. Lots of depth. Big roast with a rich sweetness as well. A bit boozy. Some very light oak, vanilla like bourbon booziness, a hint of licorice. Charred roast and chocolate. Long flavors with lingering roast. Complex. Would perhaps improve with age/oxidation.

A fantastic imperial stout. Quite a bit different then many other bourbon imperial stouts. Pours a beautiful deep black with a red/pink tint, and a brown head. Smells amazing, smoked bacon, cherries, vanilla and caramel, bourbon and raisins. Taste is super creamy but not overly sweet. Lots of smokiness, vanilla, chocolate covered cherries, and even more smokiness in the aftertaste. Great!
