Draft at Humpy’s. Dark golden. Solid but not necessarily thick head. Easy to drink but also a kick in the pants. Good beer. (#3955, 7/28/2010) AmEricanbrew (6878) - Same Trailer, Different Park, Louisiana, USA - JUN 13, 2010
Clear dark golden color/ white head. Big pine sap sweet aromas with mild honey malts. Light to medium bodied. Nice pine sap bitter sweet flavor with rich, grainy pils. Dry spicy finish. good. GodOfThunder (1249) - Orlando, Florida, USA - MAY 19, 2010
Draft at Midnight Sun Brewery. Pours a thick golden yellow. Aroma of grasses, grains and biting hops. Mouthfeel is also thick and flavors are strong and bold, with the hops reigning. This is certainly a style I wish they wouldn’t imperialize or double. The aspect of the pilsner being light and refreshing is gone. The flavor is good, but this is now a big beer for a style that is traditionally easy drinking. It is good, it just makes me want a lighter version. savnac (2391) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - APR 20, 2010
On draft @ MSBC. Pours clear golden yellow with a thick foamy pure white head and lots of visible carbonation. Aroma of citrus and tropical fruit hops and very little else. Flavor comes mostly from the fruity hops with a bit of malt showing through, but there is a metallic finish at the end that I don’t care for. Medium to light body, active carbonation and a crisp dry mouth feel. Interesting beer, this drinks like a 4.5 abv beer not a 8.7 abv beer, alcohol is completely hidden, what kills this one for me though is the metallic taste in the finish.
