(tap) reddish amber colour, no head to speak of; faint caramely aroma; rich sweetish flavour
Bottle thanks to my friend Ryan: Poured caramel brown with tan head. Aroma is sweet sticky boozy. Taste is malts, bark woods, mellow finish. This has held up super well for being bottled in 2011. hotstuff (5233) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - MAY 15, 2014
Rated on 4-28-2012 at Fort Wayne, IN Gathering and bottle provided by jsquire. This beer has a small beige head, reddish brown body, very little carbonation observed, and no lacing. The aroma is caramel malt and dark fruits. The flavor is sweet, rich caramel malt, dark fruits, and moderately boozy. The mouthfeel is smooth and this beer is medium bodied. This is a sipping beer at 10.9%ABV. jbeatty (1256) - New York, USA - OCT 10, 2013
Bottle, thanks to liquorbarrel, 10/10/2013. Pours bright reddish brown, hazy light tan head fades to swirl on the surface, half ring of lacing sits around the glass. Aroma is sweet, honeyed toffee with dark caramel, dark fruit and brown sugar, bread. Taste is sweet dark bready malts, caramel toffee, spiciness and slight hop bitterness in the finish. Medium body. Overall ok, but seems a bit simplistic and not well-intergrated in the end. thedm (6309) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - JAN 1, 2013
This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a head of foamy finely sized bubbles that were quickly diminishing and left behind a softly carbonated dark red brown colored body and a fair lacing. The mild aroma was malty. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of crystal malt sweet Irish red malt hops and malt. Delicious and one I would certainly like to have again. fletchfighters (1553) - AUSTRALIA - OCT 15, 2012
Bomber into a tulip
A clear dark brown color, one finger of white head that fell to a thin collar.
Sweet, stewed dark fruits, brown sugar, caramel, and a lot of malt. Bits of alcohol in the nose.
Taste is a bit more tame and slightly thin but a lot of bread like malts, brown sugar, and stewed dark fruits. No syrupy quality to this and that is good.
Low carbonation, medium bodied, touches of booze but that is expected though.
Slightly thin in spots but I think has rounded into a nice beer and very close to the style.

bottle courtesy of jsquire at Ft Wayne tasting - This brew smells of caramel and a bit of fruit. The taste of very sweet caramel malt. There’s a touch of hops bitterness in the finish, but mostly it’s sugary sweet with a hint of fruit. Pretty good. Kulmbacher still owns this seldom brewed style though. jsquire (4564) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - MAY 20, 2012
Reddish amber color witha very thin tan head. Sweet sugar nose. white sugar sweetness with some toast and strong alcohol notes as it warms. This beer seems a little thin. wavers1 (916) - Notown, California, USA - MAY 5, 2012
ok, dont laugh at me but for a minute i thought, well gee, what ingredient from anchorage did they use??? lol! decent drinker, ok malt profile, not enough hops left to balance out that and the astringent abv feeling. ok, not great. BrewDad (5328) - Olympia, Washington, USA - APR 28, 2012
Dark brown in color, clear with a thin head. Tons of malt forward aroma and flavor. Rich and thick like syrup. Tons of alcohol and fruit like flavors linger. This was a tasty and don’t drink too much brew.
