Bottle shared on the 42nd floor - picked up at New Beer Distributors in NYC. Pours oily black with a dense, tight brown cream head. The nose holds well roasted malts, cocoa, light age, scorched earth. Medium sweet flavor with a lot of ashy wood, bitter dark chocolate, brown sugar, earth, leather. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with average carbonation. Lightly warming finish plenty more bitter dark chocolate, burnt earth, woody dryness, hints of dried dark fruits. Really good stuff.
