Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, brown, mostly lasting. Body is black (non-opaque, flashlight tested). Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (roasted grain, chocolate), with light notes of vanilla and tar. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium to full body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic.
Another solid but unexciting MS brew...very little aroma here, but the mouth experience is better; good balance, mouthfeel, and well-hidden alcohol. Nice appearance too. thorongil2 (3688) - , Ontario, CANADA - AUG 4, 2015
(tap) clear, very dark brown colour with a small brown head; aroma of roast, chocolate liqueur; rich, mostly dry flavour with well hidden alcohol
