Bottle @ 10K + OT. Thanks, GT. Dark brown pour with a massive tan head that fills the glass. Aroma is ashy, acidic, and overly roasty. Tart berry and raisin, wood, and toasted malt. A hint of banana and some chocolate/cocoa powder. Taste is bitter and quite acidic...very carbonic and overcarbonated. Sour blackberry, raisin, and plum. Woody dryness. Quite a bit of roast and some ash. Hints of sweet malt and fruit esters. Disappointing. Dedollewaitor (16232) - Odense, DENMARK - SEP 24, 2016
Bottle @ Boys Night out at the Hill of the dragon. Pours Dark Brown with a small beige head. Sweet syrupy and Molasses.. Bread and caramel. A bit thin. Dark fruit... Benzai (16202) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - NOV 18, 2016
Bottle shared Sebletitje @ Sebletitje’s Farewell tasting. Dark brown color, medium sized brown head. Aroma is malts, quite heavily red wine and wood. Taste malts, again heavily red wine, wood and tannines. Dark malts, roast and somewhat bitter as well. Medium body, decent to medium carbonation. Hmm solid for sure, but red wine, nah, not my thing.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with small beige head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is fruity malt and grape. Thin mouthfeel with light fruit malt and sweet roast finish. Easy to drink hiding alcohol well, a very good barley wine. Lubiere (14110) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 18, 2015
UPDATED: DEC 24, 2015 A deep dark brown barley wine with a thin brown head. In aroma, bitter chocolate with coffee grind, musty character, licorice notes, alcohol warmth, very nice. Huge wine notes in this one. Sticky and vinous. No semblance of a barelywine here. They could ave just called it a dubbel. j12601 (12974) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - DEC 28, 2014
Bottle at James’ for the multi-K tasting. Pours a deep black with a medium to thin tan head. Red wine and wood on the nose, warm wood and sweet malt and caramel. Roast and cocoa. Long chocolate and malt, warming caramel and alcohol. Tasty enough. Still don’t like barleywines. jcwattsrugger (12507) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - APR 6, 2014
