Bomber in trade with Mr 5000, thanks Andre! Pours a thick syrupy black with little to no head or lace. Aroma of big bourbon sweetness, maple and vanilla. Taste follows, wow, rich and luscious. Thick and viscous, intense but not over the top. Great stuff. bursprak (3203) - Aarhus, DENMARK - SEP 28, 2015

Bottle thanks to Bursprak! Pours black with a dark brown head - stunning! Aroma of coffee, sweet bourbon, maple syrup, caramel, vanilla, dark sweet fruits and some cocoa - That smells so good! The taste is much more roasted than you would expect. Yet you get the coffee, chocolate and cocoa. But I also got some dark dried fruits, roasted coffee, vinous notes and a pretty savory end. Nice indeed!

Heavily roasted malt, chocolate, truffle, vanilla, smoke, wood, very complex with maple, tree, oak and light bourbon notes. A solid stout which is very thick and creamy, taste of chocolate, bourbon, oak, vanilla, light booze with a woody astringent maple finish, semi sweet. Extremely solid, bourbon is quite muted though. Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, dark brown, mostly lasting. Body is black (opaque, flashlight tested). Aroma is moderately to heavily malty (roasted grain, chocolate), with notes of vanilla, alcohol, bourbon, oak. Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, lightly salty. Full body, velvety/syrupy/creamy texture, lively carbonation, heavily to harshly alcoholic.
Not sure if I’ve ever seen a beer this utterly opaque before...I used a high intensity flashlight on a glass with a pretty small diameter and not a single hint of light could pass through. Other than that, it’s just "pretty good", certainly good for the style but of the kitchen sink over the top variety...way too much alcohol (not hidden well at all), too sweet, too thick. Quickly fatiguing and hard to drink very much of. BrewHaMeister (456) - Wisconsin, USA - AUG 29, 2015
