Vicious and viscous, this menacing brew pours opaque black with a creamy maduro-colored head. Its aroma offers seductive whiskey, chewy red wine, dark fruit and lavish tobacco. Berserker Imperial Stout invades your taste buds with in-your-face flavor. Weighing in at almost 13% alcohol by volume, Berserker is completely out-of-control. Give it a good fight.

Bottle @ ZEBF 2015. Thick black pour. Aroma of vanilla and chocolate. Taste is rich, with vanilla, roasted malt and cacao. Bit of boozy red fruit there as well. Good beer.

650ml bottle enjoyed @ home. Pours black witih a quick fading dark brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, dark fruits, molasses, tobacco, syrup and bourbon. Flavour is sweet and mildly bitter. Full bodied, oily texture, soft carbonation. Finish is warming bourbon, chocolate and a hint of dark fruits.

The initial smell with this brew was kinda’ strange...metallic-like, if you will. Maybe that’s the molasses used in brewing. Oh yes...the molasses...and maple syrup. You can taste those notes as you sip away. I can clearly distinguish the two. As this delicious beverage warms, the flavors become even more amazing. The head on this beauty was small to medium. It lays a nice thin head even roughly 10+ minutes in my tulip. The mouthfeel reminds me of Ten Fidy. I love Ten Fidy! This brew has it’s own personality and struts it with true charm and delight. That metallic smell I mentioned at the beginning is nothing. Truly a work of art I wish I could share with others. I wish I had more of these to age.

29 May 2015, bottle. black and boy does it look and pour like motor oil! Nose is sweet, molasses, dark malt, grainy. Full body and moderately fizzy. Tastes amazing up front but turns normal in a moment. Sweet, oatmeal almost malt up front, gets acidic after a bit. Nice!

Tap at pine box in Seattle with commonmac and rosskyle. 6 oz pour. Black with small tan head. Smells of alcohol strongly as well as sweetness. Sugary , toffee, chocolate taste. Long lasting. Pretty smooth with alcohol bite. Lots of flavor. Could make you go crazy but in a good way.

Pours a very dark brown, almost black, with a rich dark tan head. Aroma is of wood, wine, whiskey and malts. The taste is rich and complex, with notes of chocolate, malts, and wood. This is a finely crafted barrel aged imperial stout. Thumbs up!

2008 Bottle: I enjoyed this at the annual Stout tasting in Boise hosted by some Beer Advocate guys (gasp) where they allow some rating whores in from ratebeer. This beauty had a smooth sweet aroma. The flavors had mellowed out with just a perfect amount of malty sweetness. It held up well. Tasty.

This beer is delightfully dynamic and completely insane. Other reviewers seem to disagree, but the aroma is my favorite part--intense dark chocolate, port, tobacco, mild smoke and maple sugar. Stellar. Despite the permanent stain this beer appears to leave on my glass, it isn’t quite as full-bodied and creamy as I expected. Looks like a steakhouse, drives like a bistro. This beer is worth it for the aromatics alone, though!
