Bottle. Pours a cloudy brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, and caramel. Thin mouth with sweet roast, dark chocolate, nutty malt, lingering dry finish, very good. jake65 (3978) - Meridian, Idaho, USA - MAY 16, 2015
Bottle: Pours a deep brown body topped with a thick brown head. Fizzy at first, but creamy and lots of thick lacing. Nose is an intense coffee, roast, and cocoa blend. Roasty and nutty flavors, light cocoa and some faint bitters. Lots of carbonation, more than desirable, imo. The good thing is a heavy finish of roast and chocolate that brings a seemingly creamy feel into play and helps get past the bubbles. Interesting. p1meatloaf (256) - Corvallis, Oregon, USA - APR 15, 2015

This is at least a year old, as it has been retired. Bottle, opaque black body, walnut colored head, some lace. Aroma dark fruit (cherry and dried plum), molases, faint metal, roasted barley and coffee. Taste is roasty with coffee, dark chocolate, molases, and plum. Faint metal is still there in the flavor, finish is dry, bitter coffee. Palate is smooth, but not thick, carbonation moderate. slowrunner77 (12466) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 26, 2014
"kinda halfway between an extra stout and an imperial. highly roasted aroma, with a nice balance op hops, chcoolate and coffee. nice brew, but overpriced for what it is, like most of MS bottles."

Bottle served in a pint glass. Pours black with a good sized brown head. Good retention and nice lacing. Straight stout goodness. Not overly complex, but it is balanced and tasty. Light coffee, cocoa, roasted malts and resiny hops. Mid sweet, medium body and a long roasty and hop bitter finish. If they put this in a 6-pack it would rival the best stouts out there and become a commercial success. jdb288 (584) - Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA - JUN 16, 2014
Bottle, age unknown. Pours black with a bit of yellow/tan head. Aroma is faint coffee, cheese rind. Taste is hard to describe. Some sweetness from the malt, though its’ more about the chewy texture than the flavor as far as the malt goes. A bit of the hops coming through. Weird interplay with the two. Undecided. Will update once I’ve had another go-round. travita (5006) - Dallas, Texas, USA - OCT 21, 2013
Tap. Backlog of ratings. The look is black in color, dark, and has a tan head. The smell is roasty, chocolate, coffee, wood, and nice. The taste is toast, dark coffee, fruits, dessert, and chocolate. arminjewell (9689) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - OCT 19, 2013
Pour out of 22 oz bottle, thick black pour with thiin tan head, aroma brought notes of slight caramel, oxidized fruit, more veggie notes, herbal, slight coffee and roast. Taste is a mix of veggie, earth, slight grass, grain, hints of roast, lots of veggies, finishing bitter, dry. Ugh. cubs (10675) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - OCT 19, 2013
