I liked this as a double IPA. Tons of piney NW hops. very little citrus, but there and pleasing. Not too over the head, but a great little beer. I’d drink again (but as Mike says, I never have a beer twice!).

On tap at the brewery. Incredibly smooth and drinkable. The hops and alcohol are well balanced. If you like IPA’s then you’ll like it. blankboy (7808) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 29, 2009
Bottle (22oz) shared with garthicus, GregClow, jerc & mabel -- courtesy of j&m. Pours a slightly hazy yellow-orange with an average size lasting frothy white head. Nice aroma of resiny citrus hops and sweet bready malt. Flavour’s the same, citrus hops backed by sweet bready hops and very bitter finish, almost astringent. Average bodied. Pretty good. garthicus (2945) - Dublin, IRELAND - FEB 1, 2009

Light orange. Large white head.
Lovely grapefruit aroma, hops, bananas, peppers.
’juicy’ juniper, grapefruit, coriander, pineapple. Lovely
Long bitter sweet finish. mabel (9787) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 14, 2009
[1953-20090116] 22floz bottle. Orange and lemon hops aroma is sweet and yummy. Slightly hazy, light orange brown body with a long-lasting creamy off-white head. Super bitter orange rind flavour has lemon zip and a mild butter finish. Medium body is very bitter. Super-hopped up is quite good here.

Bottle shared at Ale Atlanta.
Pours a light golden amber with a big, fluffy white head that hangs on for quite a while, leaving solid lacing.
The aroma is more balanced than I was expecting. It’s got plenty of light citrus fruits and some pine, but there also a comparable amount of caramel malts in the nose as well. Definitely not a one-sided fight in the aroma.
The taste seems to kick up the pine hoppiness a bit which seems to dominate the citrus a little bit more. The big toffee and malt sweetness more than stands up in the background and form a very well balanced taste.
The mouthfeel is sticky with hops and medium bodied with plenty of carbonation.
This is a nice, well-balanced DIPA from MS and another in the long line of great offerings from the guys in Alaska. BrewDad (5667) - Olympia, Washington, USA - MAY 4, 2009

Aroma: Great IPA aroma with fruity and floral scents.
Appearance: Amber in color, clear with a thin head.
Flavor: Good IPA flavor this was big but did not kick in your teeth with too much hops.
Palate: Dry IPA finish, with a Good Mouthfeel.
Overall: This was a very well brewed beer. I liked it a lot. Made it hard to drink the rest of the night with all the hops.
22oz bottle from Bottleworks. Pours a clear dark golden to very light amber color with a big white head that leave a small amount of lacing in the glass. Nose is aromatic resiny hops with hints of citrus and some spicy floral notes. Really, a nicely balanced nose. This one is equally balanced on the palate. Great carbonation with citrus and slight maltiness up front and then some, but not too much, bittering on the end. Enjoyable DIPA, but the astringent qualities did come out as it warmed up a bit. bitbucket (2166) - Kirkland, Washington, USA - JUN 6, 2009
Bomber. Pours hazy dark gold with a lacy white head. Solid Hawaiian pineapple aroma with a layer of malt behind it. Medium body and carbonation. Surprisingly, there is a significant pineapple quality to the taste, along with peach and toffee which turns to pine on the finish with a lingering resinous aftertaste. ApisAles (1575) - Greenbelt, Maryland, USA - JUN 14, 2009
Pours a dark orange colorwith a thin white head. Lots of lacing as this one went down. Aroma is citrus, pine, a good bit of malt, a little biscuit. Nicely balanced. Flavor was the same, some good hops character up front, not overly bitter, and a nice malt backbone to prop the beer up. Solid DIPA.
