Bottle. Colour... dark gold with no head. Nose... kind of funky but with the customary pumpkin pie spices. Palate... mild CO2, then there’s that funk again! Not sure what to make of that funk. It’s not necessarily bad; just not what I expected. I guess I’d say there’s a saison-like aspect to this one with a somewhat citrusy-fruity note to go along with the spice and pumpkin. In general though, I’m not a fan of this offering from MSBC. There is a rather vegetal (no pun intended given the gourd aspect) watery character to this one that just isn’t sitting well with me. Think I’ll stick to the oh-so-fabulous-and-magnificent T.R.E.A.T! marcus (10880) - Sacramento, California, USA - DEC 26, 2013
Bottle from Capitol Beer & Tap Room. Pours light amber with a rich off-white head and a spicy pumpkin aroma. There is a rather harsh vegetable flavor with a mix of spices and a noticeable yeast presence. nickd717 (4999) - San Francisco, California, USA - JUN 15, 2014
Draft at the brewery. Orange-gold with a small white head. Belgian yeast and spices on the aroma. The flavor is mildly sweet and rather belgian with notes of coriander, ginger, and caramel. Not much pumpkin, maybe a little. Medium body and carbonation. A little underwhelming, but still good. Pailhead (6543) - Rochester Hills, Michigan, USA - NOV 1, 2014

Bottle: The aroma consists of ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, light pumpkin, and apple. It pours a hazy amber with a two finger off-white head that eventually fades to a thick film. There is some sporadic webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a quick dose of caramel. The finish has light ginger, nutmeg, allspice, and apple. It’s light-medium bodied with light-moderate carbonation.

Pours cloudy golden, small white head, some lacing. Aroma of pumpkin and cloves. Taste of oranges, pumpkin and spices
UPDATED: NOV 18, 2009 Bomber. Clear amber color with a small head. Aroma of belgian clovey-banana yeast and some light sugar type malt. The spices are there but lighter and I’d be hard pressed to identify them over the spicy yeast. I don’t get any pumpkin.riversideAK (6265) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - DEC 23, 2009
I was kind of hoping for more out of this. The description sounded a bit like Iron Hill’s Ichabod, which I enjoyed very much.
But it’s their first year for this beer. Maybe they’ll make some adjustments in the future?
Nose is lightly belgian spice, pumpkin, ginger, clove. Grainy malty cereal honey and light alcohol. Ppurs golden some head, no lace. Pumpkin ginger clove banana spice. A little menthol. Very crackery and dry/thin. Sweet and spicy but this doesn’t work that well. tgncc (3145) - Bellmore, New York, USA - JAN 18, 2010
The aroma is sour, vegetable, squash. The appearance is clear, gold yellow, white head. the flavor is vegetable, pumpkin, sour, vinegar. The finish is noble hops. Medium body. Ok. Intersting idea, middling execution. puzzl (3264) - New York, New York, USA - JAN 23, 2010
Bottle shared by BrianK. Man, these guys have gone down hill. Pumpkin spice, very vegetal, zucchini, white pepper aroma. Prickly body, harsh, a bit thin. Sweet, unfermented malts in the finish. Bleh. goldtwins (4319) - Nesconset, New York, USA - FEB 24, 2010
Thanks to BrianK. Poured a mostly clear copper with a white head. Yeasty spice aroma with light cinnamon and squashy. Semi-sweet caramel flavor with spices mixed through. Sweet finish.
