COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

0.5 l bottle, thanks Timo A! Red-brown color. Sweet aroma with juicy berries and toffee. Sweet toffeish and berryish flavor with red currant and caramel. Stylewise english barley wine, which is not one of my flavourite styles.

500ml Bottle: Got in trade from stobbe74; THANKS Soeren! Aroma of malt, vegetables, slight vinegar, slight caramel, slight diacetyl, and toffee. Poured deep amber/brown in color with a medium-sized, creamy, dense, tan head that greatly diminished but lasted throughout as a film on top of the beer. Cloudy. Slightly sparkling. Full of tiny-sized particles throughout. Flavor is medium sweet. Tastes of malt, toffee, vegetables, and slight diacetyl. Medium body. Viscous, the slightly sticky texture. Soft to average carbonation. Malt, diacetyl, toffee, vegetable finish is medium sweet and slightly sticky. 10%ABV is completely hidden throughout.

18-JUL-2009, Bottle. Orange/red colour with beige head. Very malty and not hoppy. Charamel and sugar cane. Alcohol noticeable, but OK to me. Very sweet and just a nice barley wine.. Good job, MB. Morten says OK.

Habanero (4847) - Tranbjerg, DENMARK, DENMARK - NOV 7, 2011
Bottled. Pours slightly hazy, mahogany with a little, off-white head leaving a fair lace. Nose of dried fruit and caramel. Sweet flavor of raisins, caramel and orange. Full bodied, oily texture and soft carbonation. Ends up slightly bitter and an alcohol bite. A nice barley sipper.

Palme (4823) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAY 26, 2011
0.5l bottle. Pours a deep hazy chestnut-brown body with a fading beige and creamy head. Aroma is nice caramel, dark ripe fruits, roasted dates, strawberries, light grassy, pecan nuts and a hint of alcohol and yeast. Really full-bodied, average to softly carbonated and has a chewy and thick texture. You can quite feel the alcohol, and it’s really caramel-sweet. Ends with a lingering alco finish, slight stingy, and has a quite sweet aftertaste with dark malty/burned caramel. I don’t particular like it when the barlywines gets too sweet, and this one unfortunately is a tad to sweet for my liking. Noticed that this bottle has braille on the label. Nice little touch there from Midtfyns, but that does not save this from being an average barlywine.

sayravai (4711) - Helsinki, FINLAND - OCT 10, 2009
(Bottled) Hazy dark ruby with a small, firm and tanned head. Sweet and grainy, very malty aroma with lots of creamy toffee and a touch of strawberry. Flavor is sweet and biscuity-malty with (straw)berries, toffee, cream, dried fruit, and some smooth-n-warming alcohol. Quite full body, thick and creamy mouthfeel with low carbonation. A somewhat sweet and straightforward, but clean and enjoyable barley wine.
