Pours dark orange with almost no head. Aroma: hopps, heavy malt aroma, "fruit with sugar", a touch of spices. Taste: pretty complex and heavy, with some taste of honey, caramel, strong malt character, hops, a bif of liquorish aftertaste. Pretty sweet, but at the same time not outbalanced. A very good barley wine. thomat (3928) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - DEC 18, 2014
UPDATED: FEB 14, 2016 British tasting @ Haket Pub / Bottle. Golden with no head. Fruity and yeasty tones. Fruit, malt, alcohol and sweetness. Full body with a sweet finish. McTapps (6899) - Reutlingen, GERMANY - JAN 1, 2015
Bottle from trade with Meilby - thank you, Kenni. The beer has got a deep dark brown colour with an steady head and medium to smooth body. Wonderful aroma of intense barley, plums and warm bread. Taste of barley, malt, wine, sherry, chocolate, plums, prunes and vanilla. Hints of rum and oak. Very warming, quaffable and tasty beer. Loved it. Milter (960) - Nyborg, DENMARK - FEB 4, 2015
UPDATED: FEB 16, 2017 Clear dark amber brew with a small off-white head that lasts long. Aroma is malty, with some presence of ripe fruits, some oak as well and some slight alcohol. Hoppy notes as well. Realy nice nose. Taste is syrupy sweet with a clear touch of its aroma. Pretty autumn-like if you ask me with clear notes of the fruits and the hops. Some caramel, raisins, honey, oak as well with a nice grassy bitterish and warming end which has some dryish notes in it, despite being largely sweet. Truly an interesting aspect of this enjoyable, tasty rich brew. Full bodied, mouthfeel is pretty sticky and syrupy. Carbonation is quite low. Beautiful deep, well-balanced brew that is tasty in every way. Good sipper for the darker days of the year. Has some great ageing potential as well, which I will definitely do with a next bottle. 0.5 bottle. Hazy, light brown color with an orange tinge and a small, white head. Aroma of fruits, cheese, little bit of grapes, and a touch of malts. Taste is sweet and malty; it features cheese, fruits, some syrup, hints of caramel, and delicate honey. Medium body, creamy texture, and flat carbonation. Finish is a little sourer with a delicate vinous tone and perhaps a bit off balance but still shows some class. Overall a fantastic beer, not even as much as a hint of alcohol throughout.

Orange/red colour with beige head.
Very malty and not hoppy.
Charamel and sugar cane. Alcohol noticeable, but OK to me.
Very sweet and just a nice barley wine.. Good job, MB.

.5 liter bottle. Thanks to Simon from In de Wildeman for giving me this!! Appearance is dark amber, slightly clear, thin head dissipating, light lace. Aroma is smell caramel, toffee, raisin, fruity esters, light american hops, slight oxidations, big sweet fruity ester. Flavor is earthy leather, caramel sweet malt, toffee, brown sugar, raisin, slight apple. Smooth in the finish wiht a nice green grassy bitterness- overall a pretty solid barleywine. Sampled @ Copenhagen Beer Festival 2010. Amber body with a nice off-white head. Aroma of sweet, ripe fruit, malt and some alcohol. Flavor is sweet malt, caramel, some roast, dry fruit, warming alcohol and moderate bitter. Rather sweet, but very nice. jikvig (269) - NORWAY - OCT 29, 2010
Aroma; A very sweet, malt nose with caramell, mocca, a hint of nuts maybe?
Flavours; More yeasty flavours in the mouth, with some yeast, leather going over to caramell, sweet coffee and brown sugar.
Summary; Not an overwhelming BW, and that´s what I like about it. You can have a whole bottle without totally feeling up my stomach.
