COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

50cl bottle form Bierzwerg pours with a crystal clear copper body that supports a thin light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up lots of sweetness coming from notes like caramel, white chocolate, sugary toffee, blue wacky taffy and a bit of nuttiness. Intriguing, I get very little if any dark fruity esters. The taste is a big hit of sweetness that’s a lot like the nose where caramel, white chocolate, toffee, wacky taffy and then it slides into a light degree of brown sugar coated prunes and figs. Interesting stuff but it seems the esteriness could be a bit more forward to add more balance.

Format 50 cl, given slight amber tone with light foam is not very long lasting style feature. Good caramel aroma with hints of chocolate. In the mouth sweet caramel notes of short duration, well integrated spirit.

Clear caramel colour, white head. Aroma of caramel, wine, raisins, malts, wood and alcohol. Caramel flavour, quite sweet, raisins, some madeira notes, feels aged. Finish caramel and raisins. Nice!

500ml bottle. Barely clear, deep copper colour with small to average, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Sweet-ish malty aroma, notes of raisin, plum, caramel, candied fruit, a touch of sherry, marsala. Taste is slightly sweet caramel malty, hints of orange liqueur, sugar powder, a touch of raisin and plum; temperate sweetness, well hidden alcohol. Oily texture, soft, minimally sticky palate.

UPDATED: OCT 25, 2015 Clear dark amber brew with a small off-white head that lasts long. Aroma is malty, with some presence of ripe fruits, some oak as well and some slight alcohol. Hoppy notes as well. Realy nice nose. Taste is syrupy sweet with a clear touch of its aroma. Pretty autumn-like if you ask me with clear notes of the fruits and the hops. Some caramel, raisins, honey, oak as well with a nice grassy bitterish and warming end which has some dryish notes in it, despite being largely sweet. Truly an interesting aspect of this enjoyable, tasty rich brew. Full bodied, mouthfeel is pretty sticky and syrupy. Carbonation is quite low. Beautiful deep, well-balanced brew that is tasty in every way. Good sipper for the darker days of the year. Has some great ageing potential as well, which I will definitely do with a next bottle.
