Bottle. Pours hazy very dark brown with airy dark tan head. Intense, sweetish aroma of malt and hops, possibly fruit, too. Roasty notes. Dark, roasted and smoked flavour with a note of dried fruit and a boozy finish. Dry aftertaste. Very interesting, but I don’t think I will be handcuffed to the brew until Ragnarok comes (as it says on the label), unless it comes very soon. fellebag (1509) - Oslo, NORWAY - DEC 26, 2012
Large off white head. 50cl bottle. Dark brown color and quite fizzy. Aroma has hops, nettle and honey. Taste of pine, honey and moutwash.

Pours black as night with a small head. Rich aromas of licorice, burnt caramel and some fruits. Flavor is full with licorice and floral hops. I like how the hops balance the sweetness in this beer. A must buy if you stumble upon it. JanLaursen (3227) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - NOV 30, 2012
Bottle, 50 cl. Mahagony brown with a very decent beige head. Nose is rasted, licorice, grapefruity hoppy. Taste s well balanced, sweet malty and bitter hoppy. Not fantastic, but very likeable and drinkable, maybe a touch too boozy. Glouglouburp (6103) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 5, 2012
In short: A roasted and well hopped Black IPA that somehow doesn’t really work as well as it should. Slightly below average for the style

How: Bottle 500ml. Consumed fresh the day of purchase
The look: Near black body topped by a medium tan head with good retention and leaving lots of lacings on the glass
In long: The hoppy nose has green pine needles and herbal-flowery hops backed up by strong notes of roast. Taste has lots of burnt malts, a bit ashy, a strong yeasty sensation, some burnt caramel, and a lot of hops. The hop profile is a bit of everything, grapefruity, green pine needles, dry grass, flowery. I was once again slightly bothered by an overall perfume sensation, happens too often these days. Fluffy mouthfeel with a very lively carbonation. Somehow the whole was less than the sum of its parts, a bit simplistic in the highly roasted malt department and a hop profile that didn’t really work with the malt bill. All in all, a slightly below average example of a bastard style I usually like. Nothing special here, just another rating for me, and with over 5000 ratings entered on ratebeer so far every time I enter a new rating I can’t decide whether this is a new high or a new low in my life.
Bottle. Dark red/brown body. Large head. Sweet aroma, with a tad freshness, red berries. Sweet flavour of both berries, tropical fruits and coffee. Nice complexity. Quite bitter finish. (At home, 06.10.2012) krage (1) - NORWAY - OCT 4, 2012 does not count
I have always liked an good IPA, this one I did taste to day, and it is a beer that is almoust perfect. Just make sure to don’t drink it on a low temprature :-) bergstaden (3026) - Røros, NORWAY - OCT 4, 2012
Black with a light brown head - Very nice hoppy aroma stight away along with some hints of roasted malt and coffee - good malt body with some roasted notes, licorice, coffee and a nice bitterness that lingers for a long time in the finish, along with some alcohol warmth in the back - this was really good POLK (2219) - Hørning, DENMARK - SEP 23, 2012
150212: Black IPA with a good toasted and very hoppy flavor. Somewhat powerful garza (573) - Oslo (NO), Caracas (VE), VENEZUELA - SEP 21, 2012
Pours a very dark redish brownie blackish look (?) with an average tan head. Fruity aroma with presence of the malts and hops and hints of licorice and chocolate. Malty roasted taste, notes of chocolate, spiced flavour. Light sweetness, medium bitterness. Full body, oily feel, soft carbonation, nice long bitter finish. Good one.
