(Bottle) Pours dark brown to black with a creamy, pale brown head. The aroma holds glue, almond, caramelized milk chocolate, dark chocolate, dark grainy bread, some coffee powder, earthy spices, fresh vegetables, yeast, rotten oranges, anise and faint hops. The flavour is light to medium sweet, light to medium bitter and tiny acidic with subtle hops and friendly roast, Orange and liquorice. The mouthfeel is round and tiny tart with a soft/light crisp carbonation. Sugar, nuts, roast and earthy hops on the finish. Medium bodied. thebeertourist (5189) - Oslo, NORWAY - NOV 10, 2012

Pours dark brown almost black with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, licorice, chocolate and star anise. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long licorice finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Dark brown, almost black. Malt and anise/liquorice nose. Quite spicy aroma, with (too much) anise. Malt, coffee and chocolate as well. Feels salty because of the anise. Not that pleasant. SirLimpsalot (4452) - SWEDEN - OCT 1, 2012
Stockholm Beer 2012: Ganska stor och kryddig doft. Smaken är lite mer balanserad men den blir kanske lite väl i sötaste laget. gyllenbock (9713) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - SEP 29, 2012
Sample at SBWF 2012.
Black with a small tan head. A lot of spices both in the aroma and taste. Licorice, malt, fruit, some notes of ash, fennel. Rather cool and interesting.

Bottle. Dark brown body, lighter brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, berries and cinnamon. Taste of coffee, chocolate and more christmas spices (clove?), with yeast and nuts. A good take. Good body and balance, lasting herbal finish. madmitch76 (25344) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JUN 2, 2012

Very dark brown beer. Milky sweet malt nose. Slightly soft palate. Flavour follows the nose with milky sweet malt. Finishes dry with just a hint of toastiness in the finish. Nice.
