Bottle: Poured a black color stout with a large dark brown foamy head with OK retention and some good carbonation. Aroma of dry roasted coffee notes with light spices is enjoyable enough. Taste is also dominated by dry roasted coffee which is well balanced and avoids the astringency side of things. Fennel notes are present but not as pronounced as I would have hoped for. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Enjoyable but added complexity would have been welcomed. RW80 (2523) - Hoogeveen, NETHERLANDS - JUN 26, 2014
0,5 l bottle
VAppearance: Verry Red brown color with a1.5 finger light brown head.,that leaves fair lacing.

Taste: caramelised malts, licorice notes, chocolate, quite some mint and a lot of Anice.Aftertaste is malty, light bitter with mainly chocolate and vegetable notes.
Medium body, average carbonation.
Tough one, Technical good, but the Anise and mint notes are not for the majority. tricksta_p (4560) - Steenwijk, NETHERLANDS - JUN 21, 2014
Aroma of roasted malts, sweet caramel, liquorice, lots of anise. Flavour is heavy sweetness, spices, anise. Sticky mouthfeel. Definitely not my kind of beer. Benzai (15460) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - MAY 23, 2014
Bottle @ home shared with Dutchdrebus. Red brown color, medium sized light brown head that leaves fair lacing. Aroma is full on anise, not my thing. Taste malts, again strongly anise, some mint, lightly roasty, some liquorice. Medium body and carbonation. Well, this is probably what they intended to brew and I think they succeeded, but it’s not my thing. Too much anise and mint flavors for my liking.
