English: A dark, almost black stout with a beautiful cream coloured head. A rich stout, spiced with aniseed and fennel seed. A delicious Christmas Stout - like you have never seen it before.

Bottle @ benzai. Dark ruby to brown colour with a medium to large sized off-white to beige head. Smells anice, iron, herbs, spices, sweet, hint of liquorice. Tastes anice, herbs, spices. I really don’t like anice. Medium to full body, nice carbo.

Bouteille.

Countbeer (6592) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - MAY 16, 2014
Bottle: Served in a shaker: Creamy vanilla beige foamy head on top of a deep dark red ish brown colored beer. Aromas of herbs, special branch, anise, mint, cloves, milk, some toast, some dried leaves and a light chocolate/coffee tint. Flavours of herbs and spices, some coffee, some mocha, some chocolate, some anise and cloves, dried leaves, some bitters and malts. Aftertaste is malty, light bitter, nutty with dried leaves and some chocolate/cacoa with a light spiced edge. Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, more than just a medium body and a creamy texture. Nice beer, spices well balanced.

My Bottom Line:
This fruity and spicy Stout develops just fennel/aniseed/licorice notes within roastiness, caramelized sugars and earthy bread flavors.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the brown-edged darkness.
-This is surprisingly drinkable.
-Wood is also evoked throughout.
-This was not as sweet as expected.
-The finish is spicy, bitter and roasty.
-Some vanilla is found underneath.
-The spice/herb dosage is successful.

Dark brown coloured. Has an off-white head, lasting. Aroma of mint, roasted, coffee, spicy and laqurice. Sweet flavor with more laqurice.

50 cl bottle from systembolaget bs. Pours black with small tan head. Smokey aroma with a smoky and spicy taste. Ok.

Pours a not-so-dark brown with a thin white head that leaves some really nice lacing. Nose is fresh and spicy, herbal. Not really like licorice but quite close. Taste is spicy and roasted, dry. Body is medium, slightly lacking. Finish is bitter and herbal, persistent. Carbonation is soft. Not bad at all, not your typical stout!

From spout scents of roasted barley malts, dark sweet liquorice malts, and from glass in addition faint hints of spices, maybe anise and fennel as mentioned. Huge standing cocoa (or tan) head, dark dark dark black-brown body, modest lacings. Taste; liquorice, coffee, dark chocolate, hops, dark chocolate malts, and some notes of spices, maybe fennel and aniseed. To palate ok, friendly. Finishes with dark chocolate, roasted caramel, spirited dark malts. Overall tasty, but not very advanced. Spicy nose, dry, seeds? Dark brown color, offwhite head creamy. Medium to light body, sweet, coffee, spice, dry aftertaste, sharp spicy. :) Bolton Brew.
