An old favourite makes a rare appearance! Challenger and Willamette hops, the clean fulsome bitterness is well balanced by complex malt flavours.

DeepBlack (386) - Derby, Derbyshire, ENGLAND - MAR 7, 2005
Cask conditioned & on handpump at The Alex in Derby on 30/01/05. Mid brown colour. Great fresh & fruity beer. Clean & crisp with a nice bite to the aftertaste. Best of the evening...

Cask (gravity dispense), GBBF, August 2005. Mighty Oak is the epitome of a mature British microbrewery, reliably turning out sound and well crafted brews. This is no exception. A solid session bitter in a quite traditional style. Attractive clear ginger colour. Dusty English hop character throughout with dry, but light, malt on the palate. Not hugely assertive, but well balanced. A classic drinking pint that will struggle to gain top marks with our scoring system, but does exactly what it sets out to do in an efficient and unfussy manner.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Amber beer with a small head. Strong malt aroma. Taste has initial caramel malt sweetness, developing an attractive sourness. Altogether a well-balanced beer with a medium bitter finish.

Earthy floral hops, caramel and some darker malt notes in the pleasantly alluring aroma. Clear amber-copper coloured body is topped with low white head that recedes to ring. Orange-floral hops, caramel and some nutty and roasty malt flavours with fair, balanced bitterness. Medium-light body with moderate carbonation. Cask at GBBF 2005.

sayravai (4710) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JAN 20, 2006
([email protected] Bird, Espoo) Nutty brown color with a completely fading head. Slightly sour aroma with toffee and hints of licorice. Sourish, almost wineous, dried-fruity flavor with a dry, burned-malty and ashy finish. Dryish, light to medium-bodied, low-carbonated palate. A decent, dry and quite complex, although sparingly hopped bitter.
