COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
THE MERC FOR YOUR MOUTH Mercenaries. The A-Team. Soldiers of Fortune. Rambo. Chuck Norris. Deadpool. These are just a few of the names that bubble up to the top when one starts to ponder who best to hire when you need something ... accomplished. In this case, we at Stone Brewing needed something explosively hoppy. And slo-mo through the smoke walked in our own in-house duo of destruction -- Brandon Berube & Miguel Ceja Andrade -- more than happy to rain down the hop grenades for us. Not a lot of talk, just all action. The team created a beer that is one of the most highly anticipated hop experiences at Stone Brewing ever. Our dual disciples of destruction have yielded an inspired accomplishment from out of the murk, just what you would expect from Stone's crack team of ace brewers. Make sure to thank 'em if you see 'em, as it's best to keep on their good sides. Since 2014, the Stone Spotlight Series competition allows our brewers to create two-person teams and vie for the chance to have their recipe brewed and distributed nationwide. This year, Brandon and Miguel won.

on draft, bright yellow with no head, a clean tasting hoppy fruit ipa with low maltiness and a clean finish, quite quaffable for 9% , some mellow lemon

On tap at Stone Berlin. On the sweet side. Herbal, but very malty. Might be better when very fresh? Too sweet and malty to function very well as a DIPA.

Bomber purchased at Bine & Vine ($8.99). POURS a very hazy dark amber hue with a half finger of eggshell colored foam. AROMA of sweet citrus, honey, under ripe tropical fruit, some melon, and a bit of dank hops. FLAVOR of tropical fruit (mango, jackfruit, lilikoi), creamy honey malts, tangerine, and a bit of dank hops. Certainly hoppy, but really not very bitter at all -- a certain level of (honey-like) sweetness helps here. Has an almost creamy mouthfeel which is unusual for the style. The beer has a certain "weight," though the actual high ABV is not detectable. Stone -- the original masters of hops -- seems to have somehow missed the hazy IPA train, and this is out of league with the best in the style, but still quite good. (50, 1085)

Very hazy orange pour with a soapy head. Big pine and mango aroma. Flavor is bready malt with a nice citrus and resin. Softer bitterness than what you normally get from a stone dipa. Nice beer.

Bottle, 355ml. Murky golden with heavy sediment. Sharp aromas of tropical hops, resin. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Smooth and creamy. Medium sweet, medium bitter. Juicy fruity flavors into an acidic, rustic hoppy finish.
