Draft - Light grains. Clear gold with a decent white head. Pale sweet malts, buttery notes and not much else. Lubiere (14262) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 22, 2010
A light blonde lager with a thin lacing off white head. Aroma of sake, lemongrass, a bit of lactic points and pepper. In mouth, a smooth lager with grassy hops and pepper, chalky notes, lighter but quaffable. On tap at brewpub, August 6 2010. Sammy (13013) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 19, 2009
A most interesting and most needed lager. The light aroma is citrussy and rice being steamed. Light body, yet some lace. Very tasty lemoney, and the bitterness is right there, edging you on. Fine carbonation.Just the right amount of this extremely bitter Japanese hop, a masterful concoction. Very very drinkable.Worth the trip downtown. jercraigs (11095) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 24, 2009
2009-12-21. Light yellow body, modest white head fades. 3+ Interesting floral aroma, buttercup. Flavour has a similar buttercup floral character, decent hoppy bitterness. 6+ Average palate suits it. Better than expected but the hop character is not to my own tastes. On tap at the brewpub DuffMan (10773) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 10, 2012
Bottle. Light yellow with a slight haze and an average white head. Aroma is interesting, at first it is unmistakably vegetal but in a weird way. Some here are saying buttery, but that doesn’t quite hit it for me. The closest I can come is that it smells a little like hearts of palm or artichokes or something like that. Even that isn’t quite right, but its moving in the right direction. Maye a bit of pepper (i.e. capsicum, not spice). Flavour is also quite unique, and after a third of the bottle I am won over. There are pale malts here, clean and nice, but the real centerpiece is the sorachi ace hop character. I’ve commented before that it has almost a creamy, buckwheat kind of character that fades into a light floral lemon. Medium bitterness that is quite welcome in my version of any pale lager. This was interesting, beguiling, and well-made. I would buy more of this just to try and pin down what I’m getting on the palate with greater accuracy. Cool.

Cloudy pale golden pour. The nose is a little bit sulfury with a distinct lemony character on the back. Quite lean with a very clean light pale malt base and a touch of graininess. Quite nicely hopped with a little peppery bite on the finish. Well-lagered (like all of their lagers) and light bodied. Easy to put these back in some pretty serious quantity. Light bitterness but clearly made in the pilsner style. Pretty nice stuff. mabel (10003) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 13, 2010
[2666-20091221] Tap. Sweet mushy banana bread yeast aroma. Slightly hazy, pale orange yellow body with a medium-lasting foamy white head. More mushy banana yeast in the flavour. Medium body has a mild tonic water feel to it. Wow, great banana bread characteristics, really interesting.

Pretty damn good for a pale lager. The sorachi gives it a little aroma that distinguishes it from your average lager. Pours pale and pissy as any of its peers, quickly dying head. Has a crisp taste (that sounds like a beer commercial). Ya. Bottle. czar (9615) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 10, 2012
pours very clear light yellow with a very small white, very little retention. cereals, light lemon, not much sorachi here, cardboard, spicyness, metal, herbeceous hops. overly carbonated, light body. bland and disappointing. blankboy (7884) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 25, 2010
Draught at the brewpub. Pours a slightly hazy pale gold with a small white head. Interesting, if not great, aroma of rice (sweet rice?), a hint of pepper and floral notes -- It’s sweet but I’m not sure from what. Flavour, again, of rice along with very light hops, grain and malt -- not bad, it’s not unflavourful. Average bodied. Not awesome but it has character, and it’s good with food.
