Bottle. Light yellow with a slight haze and an average white head. Aroma is interesting, at first it is unmistakably vegetal but in a weird way. Some here are saying buttery, but that doesn’t quite hit it for me. The closest I can come is that it smells a little like hearts of palm or artichokes or something like that. Even that isn’t quite right, but its moving in the right direction. Maye a bit of pepper (i.e. capsicum, not spice). Flavour is also quite unique, and after a third of the bottle I am won over. There are pale malts here, clean and nice, but the real centerpiece is the sorachi ace hop character. I’ve commented before that it has almost a creamy, buckwheat kind of character that fades into a light floral lemon. Medium bitterness that is quite welcome in my version of any pale lager. This was interesting, beguiling, and well-made. I would buy more of this just to try and pin down what I’m getting on the palate with greater accuracy. Cool. Appearance: light pale , fizzed golden look with mid plus fragmental lace. 3+
Nose: aromatic rice aroma, fragrant with sweet fruity hints, oriental fruit with rose petal 6+
Flavor/Palate : sweet golden lager with soft grainy, bit silky lining. Very refreshing and smooth. Hop gently spread on top. Mild till very finish.
2009-12-21. Light yellow body, modest white head fades. 3+ Interesting floral aroma, buttercup. Flavour has a similar buttercup floral character, decent hoppy bitterness. 6+ Average palate suits it. Better than expected but the hop character is not to my own tastes. On tap at the brewpub garthicus (2963) - Dublin, IRELAND - JAN 4, 2010
At the brewery. Appearance: Cloudy yellow, proud white head. Aroma: Lemon, rice, quite wine like. Faint ginger. Flavour: Lemon, ginger, quite grassy with some toffee and malt. Quite interesting. mabel (10003) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 13, 2010
[2666-20091221] Tap. Sweet mushy banana bread yeast aroma. Slightly hazy, pale orange yellow body with a medium-lasting foamy white head. More mushy banana yeast in the flavour. Medium body has a mild tonic water feel to it. Wow, great banana bread characteristics, really interesting.

On tap at brewpub. Pours a cloudy, ultra pale straw yellow with good-sized white head. Sweet lemon, grain and pepper aroma. Taste is lightly lemony with real pepper presence towards the end. Light side of medium body. Pleasant and different. Tranquillity (2571) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 22, 2017

Aroma of mixed fruit, malt and spice, hazy yellow, tiny white head. Flavour is a musty malt, those hops give a most distinctive exotic punch. Light bodied, well balanced. A simple little beer, yet very unique!
Picked this up at Queens Quay LCBO. Never seen this one before, so I had to pick it up to try. Pours bubbly and clear gold, fluffy white head and some minor lace. Nose is crisp and a little corn like. Tastes a touch bitter and a little bland. Doesn’t do this brand of hop justice (if they truly are using Sorachi Ace hops?). Still would rather have this then most lagers out there.
