UPDATED: JUL 30, 2010 On tap at Magpie - came a very pale, but slightly hazy golden. Thick, small white cap. Aroma fruity, yeasty, and a touch funky. Rice comes through in the flavour, but in a proud way, not hidden, adjunct-style. It is on show here. Gains grassy-bitter hoppiness as it warms. Not a favourite style of mine, but this is a very well-done example, and would be a lovely summer sessioner. Bendrixian (1514) - Canadiana, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 15, 2011
on tap at the pub. golden hue, lots of carbonation and slightly cloudy. Aromas are biscuit and some lemon notes but not as expressive as the Pils. Melow palate, buiscuit, decent structure and mid palate. easy and light.

275 mL bottle. Never heard of Sorachi Ace hops until now, let alone known that they produce the unique buttery flavour mentioned in a few other rates. Pours a light golden colour with a fine head that dissipates quickly with no lacing. A little popcorn, yeast and lemon zest on the nose. The diacetyl comes through in the flavour as well, brioche comes to mind a little. Mildly flavoured, lightly bitter and mildly carbonated, easy on the palate and fairly light tasting. A decent quencher, but not all that interesting. Ferris (15438) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 15, 2015
Draft - Light grains. Clear gold with a decent white head. Pale sweet malts, buttery notes and not much else. Zenwolf (269) - Waterloo, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 20, 2010
On Tap. Solid, but average. A great pub brew that goes very with the food served onsite. Light, grassy and sweet malty. Drinkable but forgettable. I would prefer a more robust and malted version.

Malty aroma with biscuit notes. Clear straw colour. Bitter front with malty notes, and grassy finish. Light body with lively carbonation. Not bad, but not good either. barncatmatt (2286) - Cambridge, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 22, 2009
UPDATED: JAN 9, 2013 on tap at the brew pub. clear golden with a white head. some lacing. clean light malt aroma with minimal hopping. the flavours is also very clean, refreshing, the soriachi ace hops add some lemony flavour and bitter the finish out nicely. one of the best pale lagers ive ever had.

Appearance : Clear pale yellow with a small white head. Light lacing.
Aroma : Cheap grain with honey and very very light hops. Very light citrusy notes. Corn and other stuff.. smells like a macro.
Taste : Cheap lager, corn and light honey. Light citrusy notes. Grainy finish, not much bitterness.
Overall : Not good at all. Shame on them for making you think it’s going to be hoppy by calling this Sorachi lager when in reality hops are not even there. Nose is full of cheap grain and junks. Taste not better. Not good.
(note - bottle lists this as 4.0%). Pours bubbly pale apple juice with little head. Aroma: light general graininess, a little dry? Hops don’t really provide much aroma, but are there to balance and provide a bit of finishing bitterness. TheJester (2542) - Cavan Monaghan, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 4, 2013
275 mL bottle. Really pale. Thin ring of head. Wheat in the aroma. And sorachi, I guess. Weird taste is butter, honey, lemon. Something like that. Dry. Not my thing, really.
