Bottle, 11/7/2014. Pours cloudy burnished copper, thin head. Aroma is freshly cut grass, passionfruit, mildly floral, soft fleshy grapefruit. Taste is grapefruit, light sweet malts and moderate bitterness, lingering. Medium body. Fairly well balanced, nice. Jimthechap (2064) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - SEP 6, 2014
A beer that was always going to be liked, this one. Faintly hazy golden colour with a gibbous covering of white head. A noseful of Sauvin aroma: grapefruit, gooseberry and lime peel are all there and all in force. They’re there in spadefuls of flavour as well in a thickish body with some sweetness and tangy tangelo citrus bitterness. It lengthens and becomes more and more bitter. It asks the question: did you really like me? as if it is stalking you at knifepoint in a motel. I can honestly say yes, but equally, I can also say please put that (7%abv) knife down please.

UPDATED: JUN 6, 2015 A benchmark of the Antipodean Pale Ale style. Spectacular passionfruit/grapefruit aroma is followed by a brilliantly balanced and tasty body. DylansDad (659) - North Shore, Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - NOV 2, 2013
Simply the best showcase for sauvin that I’ve had. The body is relatively thin and nothing gets in the way of the hops. The light malt allows the full flavour to present itself in crystal-clear, er, clarity, and what a flavour it is. Just when I thought I was over sauvin, this one pulled me back in. inceptioj (54) - Dunedin, NEW ZEALAND - OCT 30, 2013
Oh what a nose! It’s EXACTLY like sticking your face in a bag freshly opened bag of Nelson Sauvin. You’re blasted with resinous fruity goodness right from the moment you open the bottle. It pours a fairly standard amber with diminishing head but who really cares about the appearance. It tastes as good as it smells, has a fairly long delivery and leaves your mouth feeling tingly. Really impressed me but it has been a while since I’ve had a good IPA and everything is just a bit better the day after your last exam.
