Med brown. Fudgey aroma, lightly nutty. Thin for the style, but with some sweetness and a hint of that nuttiness. TimE (6000) - Tokyo, JAPAN - NOV 25, 2011
Light bodied, not that great, especially after just having the Elemental. Mediocre porter. gam (4008) - brisbane, AUSTRALIA - AUG 14, 2011

On tap at Beervana. Dark pour, very dark brown almost black with a small off white head on top. Cocoa powder and toasted biscuit at the forefront of the aroma. Slight vanilla note through it. Dark chocolate and roasted malts in the taste with a sweetness behind it all. Little thin on the palate. Solid davidm (2081) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - MAY 21, 2011
On tap at the local taphouse. Great imperial porter. Aromas of chocolate, caramel, and vanilla. Taste is sweet, with bitter notes, and very long length. Palate is syrupy, and full bodied. Black, with an off-white head.

Tasted on tap at Cassel’s in Christchurch. Big, dark and smells inviting: vanilla, char and chocolate. A big, black pint with a small white head that subsided in short order. Tasty, licorice and vanilla to the fore, lip smacking and tasty with a finish that verges toward the sweet. Not a bad effort this. explosivedog (1421) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - JUL 15, 2016
Pint at brewer’s cooperative. A bit of coffee and lots of malts. It’s nice, but I was expecting more. ComradeK (1250) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - APR 22, 2012
750ml bottle. Pours an opaque intense black, with a smallish beige head, which lasts reasonably well, leaving some lacing. Sweet milk chocolate, cream and a touch of custard mix with some faint floral hops in the aroma. It is quite hoppy to begin, with floral and leafy hop flavours dominant. These give way to sweeter almonds and custard, which are in turn soon overcome by by bitter dark malt notes of coffee and dark chocolate. A fairly brief finish has some cream and milk chocolate. The interesting combination of hoppy flavours and dark malt notes makes for a quite pleasant beer. bluebetty (1021) - AUSTRALIA - NOV 28, 2011
On tap at warners on the bay festival. Pours dark brown with dense and creamy tan coloured head. Nose is really nice with lots of dark chocolate, milk coffee and vanilla. Really nice. Flavours are some what muted by comparison. Some sweetness and a little roasted grain and not much else. Mouthfeel is on the fine side. User369532 (907) - - DEC 21, 2016
Botlle. Black color, tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, tin of coffee. Creamy texture, heavy sweet, great beer.
