3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Rating from "since ages ago". Dark coppery brown hue with almost no head. Aroma is malty malty malty - slightly chocolaty toffee toasty but mostly like Maltexo malt syrup. Tastes sweet with light bitterness. Full body, almost flat carbonation, long malty finish. Got this because of the "Michael Jackson factor" ...nice but not quite my cup of tea.
Cask. A deep red beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt and wood, leading to a dry roasted finish. The body is light. MikeJohnson (2) - Feltham, Middlesex, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 10, 2011 does not count
A beer that I found when I drove past the brewery while on holiday in NZ a few years ago. I now visit the brewery every time I return to NZ (about every 2-3 years). A classic mild ale that has even travelled to the Great British Beer Festival in London this year. gam (4000) - brisbane, AUSTRALIA - JUL 17, 2011

Wohoo, another one of Micheal Jackson’s 500. On tap and bottle at the brewery. Pours a slightly hazy dark brown with a small off-white head. Medium sweetness with a light bitterness. Heavy malt aromas with caramel, toffee and toasted malts with a hint of nuts and milk. Only a soft touch of bittering hops. Medium to ful bodied. Soft carbonation. Malty and slightly dry finish.

330ml bottle. brown with red hues. Has a dry corny/mealy nose. Tangy with high carbonation. Nice malt characteristics but a bit uneventful. bluevegie (3073) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - MAY 10, 2007
Tried some nice Mild Ales whilst I was in England this time last year so it was great to revisit a style that I was growing fond of. Deep ruby body with a light tan head. Chocolate and milky coffee on the nose. Smooth taste with good malt flavours showing, mld liquorice notes and a long finish. Stew41 (2055) - Phuket, THAILAND - APR 17, 2007
Another good example of organic beer from Kiwi land. For all intents and purposes looks like a porter or a brown ale (to me) but I guess it’s not too far off the Rate Beer descriptor. Chocolate brown in colour with the thinnest of heads. Mild roast and chocolate nose, hints of malty sweetness. Thinner and firm in the mouth as the roast provides some astringency. Roast and chocolate all but disappears, leaving the beer with standard ale flavours. presario (4916) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - APR 12, 2007
Brown ruby. Good lasting head. Light malt aroma. Hints of chocolate licorice. Light brown ale with notes of licorice.
