Disappointed. I saw the famous M in the chiller in Rarotonga, and having spent the week drinking Heineken, I thought it was Christmas. I didn’t have my glasses on, to notice that the bottle was Lager, and ordered it. It really could have been Heineken or Mac’s Gold, and that is no compliment. Seriously, if you’re a premium brand like Mike’s, you can’t produce a bland beer. Fair enough to produce beers that some people don’t like (I don’t like most stouts), but a bland beer is bad form. Bad Mike. But I will still sample your hoppy brews, but will check the label first. waiake (606) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 28, 2015
poured pale gold with an appealing malty aroma & a head that quickly dissipated the taste is crisp sharp full of mild malty hoppy flavours with a hint of citrus & honey & a light bitter finish 3fourths (9358) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JAN 20, 2014
UPDATED: JAN 29, 2014 The label says Bottle Conditioned but obviously it is not. Faintly hoppy aroma of grass / citrus, mostly pale malt-focused crackers and toast with some simple syrup and honey / agave notes. Medium-light body, medium sweetness balanced marginally by neutral hop bitterness, the finish is basic malt extract syrup. Medium-low carbonation under-delivers. It’s clean, at least, just simple and bland. Clear gold. From bottle. madmitch76 (25537) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JAN 20, 2013

Light haze on this gold beer, little white head. Palate is light and crispy. Okay pale malt. Light citrus. Semi dry finish. Okay.
Draft. A golden beer with a lazing off-white head. The aroma has notes of spicy hopsand malt. The flavor is sweet wtih notes of malt, hay, cardboard, and a bit of caramel, leading to a bitter finish. Coaster87 (2) - - DEC 18, 2012 does not count
Pours golden, with little to no head. Quite weak with very little body. Slight citrus aftertaste. weaselkenievil (1609) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - JAN 16, 2012
Bottle at the Summer Beer Festival, Rome. Cheers Alex. Poured clear yellow gold with a fizzy white head. Aroma is dominated by malts, flavour has straw, grass, malts, light hops, bit of toffee. It was free and I probably enjoyed it a little more than I should of as a resut of that. omega (899) - NEW ZEALAND - JAN 4, 2012
Nose reminded me of oatmeal which is confusing as typically I have breakfast in the morning so it didn’t sit right with me. Colour is nice and golden with good effervescence. Good length of flavours but nothing which makes you sit up and say wow. Brandman (2961) - Helsinki, FINLAND - SEP 14, 2011
Bottle at GBBF. Golden body, white head. Just another pale lager with no remarkable taste.
