Bottle. Sensoric. Pitch black with small to medium, thick, light brown/beige head. Poor head retention and average lacing. Nose is mainly roasted malts - milk chocolate, some cocoa nibs and lightly vanilla and raisins notes. Slightly peaty in the background. Unfortunately there is some booze noticeable. Taste is medium-sweet in the beginning and it becomes more bitter, harsh and semi-dry in the end. Full body, oily and thick texture, soft carbonation, finish is semi-dry, semi-bitter, cocoa and lightly ashy. In general very good RIS to start with some improvements and make it even better in the future. Very good balance between malty sweetness and roasted character, the high ABV content makes it very potent, but on the other hand the booze is hard to hide.

330ml bottle, BBE 31.10.23, vertical with Nøgne’s Horizon Tokyo Black. Pours pitch black with a tiny brown head. Aroma of soy sauce, roasty malts, licorice and earthiness. Taste is sweet, salty and slightly roasty with loads of licorice, earthiness, soy sauce and syrup. Finish is heavy, sweet and syrupy with loads of soy sauce, licorice, some roastiness and earthy notes. Heavy and massive, quite different compared to the Nøgne version which has a lot more earthiness and stingy notes.

Aroma has sweet licorice tones and malt. Flavour has salty licorice, soy sauce and malty tones. Too salty but not bad still.

Pours a very dark brown with a roux-colored rim that leaves low lacing. Nose is of alcohol, chocolate, umami and smoke. Taste is of grapes, oxidized alcohol, soy sauce, alcohol and roast. Moderately bitter. Quite hot, really, too much for me to really enjoy. Heavy also with its full bidy and soft carbonation. Syrupy boozy mess. Alright but a (good) bit too much. Not for me.

bottle shared by tom10101, thanks bro! pours unclear very dark brown, almost black, with a small dark beige cap, some lacing. smoked burnt caramel, torrefied molasses, loads of salt, raisins, strong bitter coffee - ristretto. moderately low carbonation, medium to full body - oily; burning hot smoky-spicy finish. needless to say, it’s hefty as hell, but still quite nice with its smoky and salty features.
