Black color, no head. Aroma has notes of molasses, dark ripe fruit, roasted malts, dark chocolate and some burnt wood. Flavor is slightly sweet, roasty, with hints of dry fruits and blackberries hints of spiced wine and black chocolate. Final with some sweetness, some alcoholic presence. One of the best Impys I've ever tasted.
Bottle from 2010. Soy and umami at first whiff, chocolate syrup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, hops, smoke, booze. Black, flat. Sweet and booze, black berries, vanilla, less soy, brown sugar and raisins. Amazingly well integrated and surely better than when fresh. Bottle, september 23rd 2016. Black body with a small brown head. Aroma is roasty with massive chocolate, licorice. Sweet and boozy taste with coffee, raisins, cocoa. Full bodied finish with a lasting alcohol and coffee aftertaste. Very nice!

330 ml bottle. The beer is black and appears thick and dense. Small brown head, a bit fizzy. Big chocolate base with lots of dark malt sweetness. Molasses, toffee, caramel, vanilla, light coconut, coffee, clean roast. Mostly sweet milk chocolate with an undercurrent of coffee roast. The taste has that same huge sweet milk chocolate up front, even more intense than expected. However, as the beer develops, roast takes over more and more. Finish has a lot of roast. Light coffee throughout. Thick mouthfeel. This is a very big beer with a lot of flavor. Roast dominates a bit too much in the finish. Bottle, enjoyed alongside the BrewDog and Nøgne Ø versions. Pours pitch black, with a creamy, mocha head. Aroma is smoked malts, with wood and coffee. Full, oily body, with soft carbonation. Bottle from Dad, pours a thick black with small head. Nose of teriyaki, and soy. One of the worst beers of the night for the group. Sharp and boozy with off putting smells and flavors. Full bodied and warming.
