Poured into a snifter. 4.5 A: Ruddy medium amber color. Two fingers of creamy beige head. Retention is very good for the ABV and lots of lacing is left. 4.5 S: Quite a hop bomb. Citrus and floral hops dominate. Mango, papaya, pineapple, and orange are the big players. Pine and grapefruit underneath. Caramel maltiness with a strong hit of bready yeastiness. 4.0 T: Surprisingly the malt is a big part of the taste. Lots of caramel, lots of peach and candied apple fruitiness. Again, lots of tropical fruits. Mango and papaya are strongest followed by pineapple and orange followed by pine and grapefruit. Mild to moderate yeastiness. The only thing that prevents me from enjoying this more is the bitterness. Bitterness is quite aggressive and lingers well into the aftertaste. The supposed 80 IBUs tastes more like double that. On a lighter note, the alcohol is well hidden. 3.5 M: Heavier medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Theres a bit too much chewiness from the yeast for me. It reduces the creaminess. 3.5 D: Im going to have a hell of a time finishing this bottle with all this bitterness. Still, its a tasty beer and I wish I stumbled upon more than one bottle. Great nose and a solid taste. Theres not a whole lot of wheat flavor in this, but thats to be expected considering the massive hoppiness. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 02-19-2012 04:51:04

Bue en bouteille de 75cl. Couleur ambr fonc. Fine mousse beige clair. Nez fruit, caramel, alcool, bois. Palais agrable, plutt bien equilibr. Bon barleywine

Bottle from SmakPiwa.pl. Spodziewalem sie nadmiernie slodkawego piwa i dominujacego etanolu. Alez to sie pomylilem, przy otwarciu przywitala mnie silna flora aromatycznych chmieli w typie US. A wyglad podczas nalewania takze juz zrobil wrazenie, barwa miedziana, dosc ciemna z refleksami jasnej maliny. I like that!

Rica.

Tap @ Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 05/02/17. Pours dark reddish brown with a good, yellowish-brown head. Aroma is caramel, some breadiness, grain, freshly-baked bread, dried fruit. Tate is plenty of caramel, dried fruit, overcharged caramel and grainy maltiness. Full, semi-sweet.

On tap at MK. Drank this the first time in Mikkeller bar in CH. Was disappointed then, and again now. Love both breweries! Pours cloudy murk, light head. Sweet, think body, butterscotch, caramel onto a real boozy finish. Too sweet for me.

Keg in Mother Kellys in Bethnal Green. Deep amber with an off white rim of froth. Sweet fruity aroma with port and booze. The tast has sweet caramel, steed fruits and toffee before a bitter finish. Very nice.

Very solid, full malty backbone, sweetness, little carbonation. Very Barley Wine-esque. But also a decent amount of hops to balance. Yummers!

On tap at Beertemple, Amsterdam. Semi-hazy dark amber pour with a thin light tan head. Notes of caramel, light bourbon, sweet red fruit, dried fruits (raisins, prunes). Very malty and just a bit fruit-funky.
