Wow, this much overkill really does taste good! There is just something wierd about the smell, like old B.O. or old people sitting around in older chairs... it’s just off-putting. It’s from Mikkeller so it looks amazing, this particular hue of amazing is a very deep reddish brown, very red. You can only see the colours around the edges where the light gets through. If they made IPA into a candy and then made that candy into a beer so all the kids who grew up on hops candy could drink their childhood memories, this would be that beer. With a smell that reminds you that you, too, are going to get old some day, so put it in 10X overdrive! This beer is my first 20 Overall. tdtm82 (1701) - Essex, ENGLAND - JAN 23, 2011
Bottle.. 375 mil, drunk at home.
Pours a great white head, looks apaque roasted brown. Aroma is pure bang on the hops, pine, hey, straw, pineapple, grapefruit, fresh bread, gorgeous. Taste is Speyside whiskey, gorgeous chocolate malt, succulant lingering grapefruit clashes against pineapple, cream soda, fresh bread, vanilla, oak, wood chips, Speyside whiskey and a big lumpy mouth feel. This is a magical ipa and something Mikkeller should be very proud of. This baby is complex and aggressive and off the scale IBU. What is amazing is how bloody well balanced and drinkable this is which is a testimony to the work. Burning peppery finish and long. I’m so gob smacked yet again. Sheer class and DON’T STOP THIS. Dark amber, compact head. Hoppy smell with some wood. Strong wood flavour. Big bitter hop taste. Nice bitter aftertaste. paco (576) - Regina, Saskatchewan, CANADA - DEC 28, 2010
Bottle from Savvy1982. Thanks very much Kyle....I think. High expectations for this one. Sex in a bottle? Pours murky brown, large head. Settles to about a half inch. Aromas are strong. Alcohol and fire right away. Some gasoline as well. Sounds horrible, but it’s not. I get big strong mean hops. deep caramel, lots of earthy notes, resin and some burnt notes as well. First taste burns like hell, then creates a fire in the back of the throat. Reminds me of the screaming mosquito from Bushwakker. Lots of heavy malts, some resin and lots of hops. Some more earthy notes too. Spicy herbs as well. Body is fairly full and very mean. Some sweetness comes through after burping. This is an aggressive IPA, I need more. yespr (48895) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - MAY 11, 2010
37.5 cL bottle. Pours hazy deep amber with a huge creamy and tan head. Aroma is malty, caramelish and light fruity. Mild smoked and dark malty. Smooth smoked, roasted and only vague hoppy and bitter. Lingering lovely malty and dense roasted caramelish. Bitterness nicely breaking the smoked notes into the finish. Fantastic.

Aroma of citruc hops, mixed with lots of wood. Big woodsy flavors and aromas, like sniffing a plank of spruce or pine, but with touches of vanilla, and dried dark fruits. The body was a little viscous, and finished not as bitter as i had expected. A great sipping beer, well worth it if you can find it. Vaiz (4460) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - SEP 26, 2010
Bottle at 2nd BBF @ De Molen. What an overload to the senses. Everything is in there, starts sweet and even somewhat bocky, but then come along the hops followed by an almost smokey finish. Great brew. canuck_j (80) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 2, 2012
AROMA: Big piney hops and malt with a wood -like note
APPEARANCE:very dark cloudy coppery colour .3/4" head of tan.Laces nicely
TASTE: Wow big barley wine-like malts with notes of dried fruit and brown sugar, as well as caramel, toffee, raisins, and of course hops. Aftertaste is of whisky , alcohol, and wood.
PALATE: big full bodied flavour with a bitter hop finish. Good carbonation for an IPA.
OVERALL: Wow, what a BEER!! this is an extremely complex, full flavoured beer that I don’t seem to have enough descriptors for. Very, very good beer, approaching a barley wine or an old English ale, but with big hops. Excellent. angel77 (4048) - oviedo, SPAIN - JAN 28, 2014
Botella de 37.5 cl en Llamas. 22-05-13.
