Bottle, thanks bluus. Pours a dirty orange brown with a small, off-white head. A lot of large particles floating around. Aroma is strongly resinous and pithy. Theres some juniperiness and caramel there, but mostly it is their union that forms the resin aroma. Taste begins quite sweet with a lot of resin. And by lot I mean a lot. The dryness and bitterness comes on the finish. Theres some juniperiness there, but mostly it is the resin. Palate is quite full with not much carbonation. Stingy with the dry and bitter.

March 2013 - cold bottle. Looks good I think - murky orange/brown with a cm of white head which endures. Smell is malty and piney. Mid-level carbonation. Taste is a bit of citrus with bitter herbs/stomach bitter. Its more astringent and drying than bitter really. There are some nice aspects to the beer, but overall its a bit of a novelty. Not something thats nice enough for me to come back to.

This beer is a joke, but a good one at that. The worst thing about 1000 IBU is the appearance. Orange brownish with a tan head and tons of unfiltered yeast sediment that unfortunately contributes to the overall taste. The aroma is my favorite part, maybe quadruple dry hopped?? Smells like starburst and fresh grass, amazing aroma. Medium bodied with tons of bitterness and astringency left on the tongue. A little bit of heat and yeast followed by sweet malt finish. Its one of the most expensive double IPAs on the shelf and by far the most unique.

500 ml. bottle.Opaque brown color with a good amount of foam that seems to stick forever to the glass. Smell of hops mostly, as one could expect, but there are also spices (pepper), fruits (including tropical and dark fruits) and there is mal too, in the form of caramel. Round body, very bitter and astringent palate. Taste is the same as smell, lots of hops, lots of fruits, very bitter but with some real good sweetness, chocolate... this is a hell of a beer.

Been in the cellar for a few years before opening. It pours a murky brick into the glass, with tons of "floaties" that make the brew spot-on for Hot & Sour Soup. The wispy head leaves soapy lacing down the glass. The nose is of oranges and tangerines, very nice! Flavors contain dry malt, biscuit flour, just a hint of melon, peppering bitters and a touch of prickly alcohol. The finish is lengthy and bitter, growing in effervescence long after the pull has concluded. For 1000 IBUs, I was really expecting something that made my mouth pucker in disgust/delight. What I received was much tamer than the ghost stories had suggested. The body is medium-full, the palate bitter and the mouthfeel active, yes indeed. However, the immense complexities I expected before pouring the brew turned out a little more "hype" than the legend suggests. Its a nice offering, surely; however, outside of a drier malty offering with semi-accelerating bitterness, it didnt set the world on fire for me. Decent? Certainly! However, with as much labeling and promotion that went into this campaign, a definite novelty in some regards.

Uploading old ratings that were missing comments. The definition of a hop bomb. Supremely bitter but citrus notes poke their head out to keep it from being undrinkable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours copper color with a medium head. Aroma of intense hops, lots of fruits, grass, pine, some floral notes and caramel. Flavor of resiny hops, fruits, caramel and mild grassy notes. Not as bitter as I expected but quite intense still.

Bottle at cosmic comic cafe, turku. Wonderful fruity hoppy aroma, flowers. Hazy reddish brown color, some.white head. Nice hoppy imperial ipa taste, maybe i expected more hops but very good ipa anyway, top quality ipa.

This is a super IPA, very hoppy and bitter and a bit of fruit. Not as bitter as I had been expecting. Interesting, but not exactly enjoyable.
